“When I encounter bad things in people. Eduard Asadov - When I see bad things in people: Verse When I see bad things in people
When I encounter bad things in people,
For a long time I've been trying to believe
That this is most likely feigned,
That this is an accident. And I'm wrong.
And, seeking confirmation of similar thoughts,
I strive to believe, forgetting about reproach,
That a liar may just be a big dreamer,
And he’s a boor, he’s probably like that out of embarrassment.
That the gossip who stepped on my threshold
Perhaps I blabbed out of stupidity,
And a friend who once didn’t help in trouble,
I didn’t betray him, I just got confused then.
I’m not hiding from troubles under my wing at all,
This should be measured by other standards.
I really don't want to believe in evil,
And I really don’t want to believe in meanness!
Therefore, having met dishonest and evil ones,
Often you try willy-nilly
In my soul it’s as if I could straighten them out
And simply “edit” or something!
But facts and time are by no means trivial matters.
And no matter how much you sometimes rape your soul,
But rot is still impossible
Neither hide nor hide, like donkey ears.
After all, I must admit that there is evil in my life
I've met quite a few.
And how many good hopes were dashed,
And how many friends have I lost like this!
And yet, and yet I will not give up believing,
What you need at the beginning of any journey
With the good, with the good and only with the good,
Go to people with a trusting standard!
Let there be mistakes (it’s not easy),
But how uncontrollably you will be happy,
When will this measure be based on height?
To the one with whom you will become richer a hundred times!
Let the cynics mumble pathetically like children,
What, they say, is a fragile thing - hearts...
I don't believe it! They live and exist in the world
And friendship forever, and love to the end!
And my heart tells me: look and act.
But just don’t forget one thing in advance:
You yourself live up to your own standards,
And everything else, you will see, will come!
When I encounter bad things in people,
For a long time I've been trying to believe
That this is most likely feigned,

Analysis of the poem “When I encounter bad things in people” by Asadov
Eduard Arkadyevich Asadov encourages us to believe in goodness in his work “When I encounter bad things in people.”
The poem dates from 1966. Its author is 43 years old, he already enjoys all-Union popularity, publishes collections in huge quantities, together with his wife, artist G. Razumovskaya, performs at literary evenings. In terms of genre - philosophical lyrics, cross and encircling rhyme, 11 stanzas. Rhymes are open and closed. The vocabulary is lively, colloquial, evaluative, and in some places sublime. The intonation is honest and frank. Already from the first quatrain, a confidential dialogue between the poet and the reader begins. The bad in people is the leitmotif of the work. Notice or be above it? He invites everyone to talk. Ready to listen, agree, argue. The feelings he experiences are understandable and familiar to every person. The poet tries to look at things philosophically: it is better to think that a person is weak than mean. This perspective allows us to see a dreamer in a liar, a gossip in a gossip, and a coward in a traitor. The popularity of E. Asadov's lyrics among readers went hand in hand with the prejudiced attitude of critics and some of his colleagues towards it. It happened that even people who entered the poet’s house turned out to be “liars, gossips.” It was all the more joy when a friend stood the test of time with dignity.
The structure of the poem is almost prosaic, verbal, using the technique of parentesis (maybe, probably, they say). Exclamations and ellipses, lexical repetitions (simple), anaphora (what is this, let it be), expressive colloquial prefix verbs: loose, broken. Amplification: live, exist. Epithets: gullible, terrible. Explanation: (this is not easy). The use of double, reinforced epithets: threefold repetition of “with good” (in stanza 8). Compound rhyme: maybe straighten them out (in stanza 5). A number of negatives, including double ones (for example, in quatrain 6). Metaphor: you rape the soul, the heart repeats. Comparisons: like donkey ears (a reference to the mythological story about the stubborn King Midas), like children. Enumerative gradations. Game morphological forms words formed from a single root: to measure with standards. Prosaism: edit. Idiom: under your wing from troubles.
Genuine sincerity of intonation, high principles- the components of success and topicality of the poem “When I encounter bad things in people” by E. Asadov.
