The name of Iran comes from Avesta. Airyanam Vaeja and other Persians. Aryānam Vaeja, which roughly means "Country of the Aryans". In the Achaemenid era (550-327 BC), the concept of "Aryānam Vaeja" was transformed into "Aryānam Xšaθram" - "The State of the Aryans". From other Persians. Aryānam Xšaθram the name of Iran occurs under the Arshakids (250 - 224 BC) - Aryānšaθr (Ariyanshahr). The name of the state of the Sassanids (224-651 AD) - Erānšahr (Erānshahr) comes from the Avest. Airyānam Xšaθram. The Avestan diphthong "ai" was transformed into pahl. "e" - "Erān".
