Explanatory note
Thematic test compiled on the topic “Quadratic Equations” and intended for 8th grade students. The tasks contained in this test, will not only allow you to work on the topic “Quadratic Equations”, but will also help students learn to confidently solve tasks of a different nature. The importance of the presented test is also due to the fact that tasks related to finding roots quadratic equations, are found in the materials of the State Archive. The test can be useful both for students with increased motivation to study mathematics, and for students who seek to improve the level of their knowledge in mathematics.
Target: Control and testing of knowledge, skills and abilities in solving quadratic equations.
Tasks: summarize the material studied on the topic;
To develop the ability to apply acquired mathematical knowledge in practice;
To develop the ability to work with tests, which is very important for preparing students for GIA exams;
To promote the formation of skills to apply comparison techniques, generalization, highlighting the main thing, transferring knowledge to a new situation, development of mathematical horizons, thinking and speech, attention and memory; develop cognitive activity, creativity;
Cultivate an interest in mathematics;
Raise the level of mathematical culture.
The test includes two options. The tasks are divided into two levels: mandatory level - part 1- (No. 1 - No. 6), in which there are five tasks with a choice of answers, one task with recording the answer and one task to establish a correspondence. Part 2 - (No. 8 - No. 10), in which there are three tasks with a detailed record of the solution.
You have 45 minutes to complete the test.

TEST “Quadratic equations” 8th grade
Option No. 6
1) Which of these equations is quadratic?
x(x – 1) = x 2 – 2x
2/x 2 = 3/x + 4
2x 2 – 3x = x + 5
2) Find the coefficients a, b and c of the quadratic equation - x + 9.+ 2x 2 = 0.
3) Solve the equation: 18x = 10x 2.
no roots
4) Which equation has a discriminant equal to 81?
x 2 – 9x – 1 = 0
2x 2 – 7x + 4 = 0.
4x 2 – 7x + 2 = 0.
4 x 2 + 7x + 2 = 0.
5) Solve the equation: x 2 - 2x - 15 = 0.
6) Find the sum of the roots of the equation: 5x 2 - 9x + 2 = 0.
