31. Bitumen supplied in solid form should be stored in ventilated places, in correctly stacked piles, no more than 1.5 m high.
32. Work on breaking the asphalt concrete pavement must be carried out with jackhammers with the obligatory use of goggles. When working with a sledgehammer, ax, chisel and wedges, their handles must be securely fastened.
33. Grouting of porous places on the coating is not allowed to be carried out from the direction of movement of the rink.
34. Carrying curbstones is allowed only simultaneously by four workers using two pairs of tongs. It is prohibited to move the curb manually using hooks. Casing of curbstones with a rammer is allowed only through a wooden gasket.
35. It is forbidden to pass between the skating rinks during their operation. When operating several rollers one after the other, a distance of at least 5 m for light rollers and 10 m for heavy rollers must be maintained between them.
36. During the operation of asphalt distributors and fillers of joints and cracks, it is necessary:
when collecting binding materials, securely attach the hose to the suction pipe with special clamps (clamps);
when spilling bituminous materials, it is forbidden for people to be closer than 10 m from distribution pipes and hoses. Areas for filling cracks and spilling bitumen must be fenced off.
37. When delivering concrete in a dump truck, the following requirements must be observed:
at the time of the approach of the dump truck, all workers must be on the side of the road opposite to the one on which the movement takes place;
it is not allowed to approach the dump truck until it stops completely, stand at the stacker bunker and be under the raised body at the time of unloading the dump truck;
raised bodies should be cleaned of adhering pieces of concrete with a shovel or a scraper with a long handle, standing on the ground. Standing on the wheels and sides of the dump truck is prohibited.
38. When the concrete mixture is supplied by jib cranes in tubs, the latter are strengthened and loaded so that their arbitrary unloading does not occur. Faulty and untested buckets must not be used for concrete supply. The asphalt concrete worker who opens the buckets must be on a solid, guarded platform. When unloading the concrete mixture from the bucket, the distance from the bottom of the bucket to the surface onto which it is unloaded should not exceed 1 m.
39. When transporting a concrete mixture by hand trucks (for small jobs), it is necessary to arrange rolling passages, which must be systematically cleaned from concrete and dirt.
40. When working with vibrators, the vibrator handles must be equipped with shock absorbers, adjusted so that the vibration amplitude of the handles does not exceed the standards for a hand tool.
41. The vibrator is powered from the mains using a hose wire. To prevent wire damage. They need to be hung. In order to avoid breaking contacts in case of accidental jerks of the wire, it should be tied to the vibrator at a distance of 20-30 cm from the end with the formation of a small loop.
42. When compacting a concrete mixture with a portable vibrator, it is prohibited to press the vibrators to the surface with your hands. Manual movement of the vibrators should be carried out only with the help of flexible rods.
43. During breaks in work and when the worker moves from one place to another, the vibrator must be turned off.
44. When opening the sides of a truck, first open the tailgate, and then the side ones. Workers should be on the side of the opening side. It is forbidden to open the sides if there are people in the body.
45. When transporting a piece of stone and a curb by a truck, they must be placed evenly over the entire area of the car body. Transportation of people in the body together with a stone and a curb is prohibited.
46. When distributing liquid binders (bitumen, emulsions, tar) by asphalt distributors, when installing or repairing black pavements by displacement, impregnation or surface treatments, as well as for constructing road bases and the lower layer of asphalt concrete pavement, the following requirements must be observed:
before starting work, check the system of bitumen pipelines, valves and distributors, test the pump, inspect the nozzles of the distributors and clean them, check the presence of fire extinguishers, electric lighting and sound alarms;
install the asphalt distributor when filling the tank, brake on a horizontal platform and check the pressure hose and the reliability of its connection to the suction pipe, and whether the filter in the intake pipe is clogged;
fill the tank only through the filter at low and medium pump speeds;
it is forbidden to pour hot material into the tank if there is liquid (water or solvent) in it, to liquefy the binder in the tank, and also to be under the filled tank;
when leaving the base, check the reliability of fastening of the distribution pipes and the manual distributor;
before igniting the nozzle, check the reliability of the fuel line connection, the serviceability of the fuel supply and the pressure in the fuel tank, the absence of drops and smudges of bitumen in the furnace;
when igniting the injector, first supply fuel with a weak stream, gradually increasing its supply to normal;
ignite the nozzle only with the help of a torch (igniter) with a long handle (1.5-2.0) m., while ignition and adjustment of the nozzle should be done from the side. The heating system must not be left unattended. Before the start of the spill of the binder, it is necessary to turn off the nozzles and close the valves of the fuel supply pipeline.
47. When spilling bitumen from a distribution hose, the worker is prohibited from being closer than 15 m from the spill site. During breaks in work, the nozzle of the distribution pipe must be lowered.
48. To avoid burns, do not touch the covers of the asphalt distributor and bitumen boiler, handles of the distribution pipe and other hot metal parts with hands without gloves.
49. If bitumen overflows over the top of the bitumen boiler, it is necessary to turn off the burner or fill the boiler furnace with water (when heated with solid fuel).
50. When performing repair work using mobile (manual) bitumen boilers and asphalt distributors, the following requirements must be observed:
the boiler must be installed no closer than 50 m from the place of work, taking into account the prevailing wind direction, in order to protect workers from the effects of smoke and fumes generated during heating;
the boiler should be loaded gradually and carefully, without throwing pieces of bitumen and heated material, in order to avoid burns from bitumen splashes. It is not allowed to load the boiler to more than three quarters of its volume;
if the bitumen foams and overflows through the lid of the bitumen boiler, immediately turn off the burner or fill the firebox with water (when heating with solid fuel);
when bitumen ignites in the boiler, quickly close the lid;
bitumen is taken from the boiler using a pump of a hand-held trailer asphalt distributor; it is forbidden to fill the asphalt distributor with buckets, buckets and other containers;
it is forbidden to touch the covers of the boiler of the asphalt distributor and the bitumen boiler with your hands;
during the operation of the distributors, monitor the condition of taps, valves and other connections, in case of detection of bitumen leakage in them, stop operation and eliminate the malfunction;
when spilling bitumen from the distribution hose, it is necessary to ensure that there are no people in the area where the spill is made. During a break in the spill, lower the nozzle of the distribution pipe to the ground.
51. There must be a fire extinguisher at each asphalt distributor and grout.
52. When using a portable burner, care must be taken; it is prohibited to use it near flammable materials.
53. When dismantling asphalt concrete roads, the transfer of disassembled material is allowed only within the carriageway and at a distance of not more than 2 m.
54. When working on tram tracks, tools and materials from dismantling the road surface and delivered again should be laid along the tracks, but not closer than 1 m from the rail head. The stacking of tools and materials between the tracks is prohibited. When laying asphalt mix on roads, it is necessary to face the movement of vehicles and mechanisms. It is prohibited to rest on the carriageway or roadsides.
55. During the work of an integrated team that lays the mixture and maintains the mechanisms, refueling the paver with fuel and lubricant should be done during the daytime.
56. Areas for filling cracks and pouring bitumen must be protected.
Chapter 4. Requirements for labor protection at the end of work
57. At the end of the work, the asphalt concrete worker must:
put in order the place of work;
collect inventory and tools in a place intended for these purposes;
inform the immediate supervisor of the work about the shortcomings identified during the work;
remove overalls and other personal protective equipment in a specially designated place;
perform hygiene procedures.
Chapter 5. Requirements for labor protection in emergency situations
51. In the event of a fire near the place of work, the asphalt concrete worker must:
stop work immediately;
take measures to extinguish the fire with the available fire extinguishing means;
if it is impossible to eliminate the fire on your own, inform the immediate supervisor of the work and call the fire brigade.
