As a result of this decision, continental Russia should become a maritime power. Now the sea and river fleet is one of the advanced sectors of the economy, which allows delivering goods to the most inaccessible corners of the country, and carries out the main international trade in Russia. That's why there are no extras here.
Ships leave the port
Again, to surf the planet!
When it comes to toast
...for those at sea...
You must be born a sailor
Luckily, is it...
Congratulations: 63 in verse, 13 in prose.
The professional holiday of sea and river fleet workers is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of July. Sailors and rivermen have been celebrating their professional holiday together since 1976.
By the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated October 1, 1980 "On Holidays and Memorable Days", the Day of Marine and River Fleet Workers is included in the list of holidays celebrated in recognition of the merits of workers in the industry. In 2017, this day falls on July 2.
The foundations for the management of maritime transport as a single branch of the national economy of the country were laid on July 18, 1924, when the Sovtorgflot Joint-Stock Company was formed by a decree of the Council of Labor and Defense. Not only were they under his control transport ships belonging to various departments and joint-stock companies, but also ports, shipyards, educational establishments and a network of service businesses. By January 1, 1925, 128 ships sailed under the flag of Sovtorgflot. Centralization made it possible to significantly, by 1.5 times, increase freight traffic. Gradually, the fleet began to replenish with new ships and by April 1, 1941, it had 870 ships.
During the Great Patriotic War In 1941-1945, transport ships made thousands of trips through internal and external communications, being attacked by ships, aircraft and submarines of the enemy, participated in many landing operations. A significant part of them, after appropriate additional equipment, performed combat missions in everyday combat operations as part of the ships of naval bases. Especially important for the transport fleet was the task of ensuring the transportation of military and national economic cargo. During the war years, the Soviet transport fleet transported about 100 million tons of cargo needed by the country and the front, 13,900 sea workers received military awards, and 35 maritime transport workers became Heroes of the Soviet Union.
Probably, each of us at least once in his life dreamed of going on a snow-white ship on an exciting cruise. It is not for nothing that the profession of a sailor is surrounded by such a romantic atmosphere, and any boy in his childhood dreams of growing up and becoming a captain.
The Day of River and Sea Fleet Workers is a professional date that is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of July by decision of the Supreme Council in 1980. Sea and river vessels are one of the basic economic sectors, and this is the great merit of many people who have devoted their lives to difficult work, linking their lives with this area.
The history of the Russian fleet began in 1696. On October 30, by decision of Peter the Great, the Boyar Council developed a Decree on the resolution of sea vessels. The adoption of this decision was truly historic, because as a result of its action Russian Empire the fate of the largest maritime state was prepared. Over the next few decades, a permanent Russian fleet, more than a hundred linear liners, about forty frigates, about sixty brigantines, a huge number of scampaways and small ships were manufactured.
Since that time, not only the number of domestic ships has increased, but also the geography of flights that they have mastered. In the Soviet state, the basics of managing maritime transport as a single sphere of the national economy were laid in the summer of 1924 with the opening of JSC Sovtorgflot. This society brought together ships owned by various departments and organizations, ports, ship repair enterprises, educational institutions and a network of service companies, in particular construction companies.
During the Second World War, all representatives of this industry were sent to repel the enemy - during the war years, over 100 million tons of various cargoes were transported along water routes. About 14 thousand sailors were awarded combat medals. In the 1960s, water vehicles became the main means of transportation in foreign trade transportation. Cargo and passenger flights were able to connect the Soviet Union with 130 states. In subsequent years, hundreds of special ships were created, contributing to a significant improvement in the process of moving goods.
The Russian fleet has been a partner of most of the world's ship-owning organizations and a member of many international companies. Despite the fact that in the 90s of the last century, as a result of the collapse of the Soviet Union, this area experienced difficult times, a number of measures that were taken by the authorities in subsequent years helped to cope with the crisis. At present, the maritime transport system of the Russian Federation plays a huge role, regulating important questions economic and social character providing the country's needs in water transportation, replenishing the state budget through the export of transport services.
Fortunately, the customs that have been forming in the fleet for years are not only alive today, but also developing. Sea vessels and now they are an important part of the transport network, an obligatory component of the entire economy of the state, they play a significant role in the implementation of the country's transport policy.
