On April 5, 2016, President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the creation of troops on the basis of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia national guard of the Russian Federation, which are part of the structure of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation.
August is rich in professional holidays, paratroopers and military pilots recently celebrated their day, but that's not all, despite the fact that the month has already passed for half, there is another significant holiday ahead for the country - the Day of the Special Forces of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Every year on August 29, in all special forces units of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, since 1977, they celebrate their professional holiday.
Do you remember how it all started…
Before, historically important event for the USSR - the 1980 Olympic Games, preparations for them began long before the start, it was necessary to provide various situations and approach such a large-scale event with full readiness in all areas, but, of course, the most important aspect was the safety of the guests of the 1980 Olympics and Soviet citizens. In memory of the hostage-taking attack during the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, 11 members of the Israeli Olympic team were killed when the police failed to prevent the attack and the operation to seize terrorists and free the hostages failed. Soviet side decided to approach the holding of the Moscow Olympics -80 with maximum responsibility. So in 1977, by order of the Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR in the Separate Motorized Rifle Division of Special Purpose named after. F. Dzerzhinsky, an experimental unit was formed - a special-purpose training company. Its number was 113 people. Such a specific detachment should have had its own insignia, it became - "Maroon Beret". At one of the factories, several maroon-colored berets were ordered.
Oh, "maroon beret" is separate story, the fact is that not every special forces fighter of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs had the right to wear it, in order to earn the right to wear this beret, the fighter had to pass the so-called exam. This means that within six hours it was necessary to make a twelve-kilometer forced march with serious obstacles, in the form of blockages, swampy areas, ravines and other natural obstacles. The next test was the fire-assault strip. Standards for high-altitude training and acrobatics, and complexes of special exercises. And in conclusion, a twelve-minute non-stop full-contact duel in hand-to-hand combat. Out of more than 20 candidates, only 2-3 people were selected. After successfully passing the tests, the fighter had every right to wear the Maroon Beret with dignity.
What were the goals and objectives of the newly created special unit of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR? The main tasks were: the release of hostages, the release of an aircraft captured by terrorists, the detention or elimination of especially dangerous criminals.
A little later, in each operational regiment of the Division. F. Dzerzhinsky, their own training companies for special purposes appeared, formed, as a rule, on the basis of 9 companies.
On account of the special forces of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, from the moment of their formation and until 1991, there were many combat special operations. For example, the release of hostages in a school in the city of Sarapul, Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1981, in the same year, the suppression of riots on the basis of the Ossetian-Ingush conflict in Ordzhonikidze, or the operation in Ufa in 1986 to detain criminals who killed policemen and hijacked the plane. In 1988, the suppression of pogroms in the city of Sumgait, 1989 - the release of hostages taken by criminals in the pre-trial detention center in the city of Kizel, Perm Region. conflict in Ferghana Valley between Uzbek extremists and Meskhite Turks. In 1990, the release of hostages in a pre-trial detention center for prisoners sentenced to the estimated execution of the city of Sukhumi. And there are an infinite number of such examples, where the fighters of the elite unit showed their professionalism, courage and bravery.
Special forces units of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
After the collapse Soviet Union The internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR began to belong to independent states. In Russia, special forces appeared in the structure of the internal troops: Vityaz, Rusich, Rosich, Skif and others. Structurally, the Internal Troops are part of the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. Part Russian army they are not included, but are built according to its type. The best of the best are selected for the troops to maintain the constitutional order and public order within the country. But in the event of encroachments on its sovereignty, the internal troops are involved in repelling the attack together with the Russian Armed Forces under the leadership of the Supreme Commander of the RF Armed Forces. Special forces of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are located in many large regional centers of Russia. For example: "Ermak" - a special forces detachment of the city of Novosibirsk, "Bulat" - the city of Ufa, "Ural" - the city of Nizhny Tagil, "Rosich" - the city of Novocherkassk, but not all detachments have such poetic names, more often they are identified, only by the number of the military unit.
Like other troops, the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia have both a combined arms flag and an individual flag for each unit. Also, each unit has its own unique emblem.
The main attention in the training of reliable special forces soldiers is given to physical and psychological stability. It is difficult for an ordinary, uninitiated person to imagine how special forces soldiers are trained. In addition to virtuoso possession of all kinds of firearms, a fighter must be fluent in hand-to-hand combat. It is good to understand psychology in order to know how to behave in a given situation. Terrorists are also people and have their own weaknesses, which once appear, thanks to which you can either negotiate with them or outwit them and buy time. Demonstration performances of fighters of the internal troops always arouse genuine interest among the younger generation. The boys, spellbound, are ready to watch their fights for hours.
Not a single Chechen campaign could do without fighters of special forces of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. The detachments participated in counter-terrorist operations to destroy illegal bandit formations on the territory of the North Caucasus. Detachments took part in the release of hostages in Budennovsk and Kizlyar, Pervomaisky and Grozny. Liberated Dagestan villages captured Chechen fighters. In 2002, the special forces detachment "Vityaz" participated in the release of hostages taken by Chechen terrorists in the theater center on Dubrovka and many other operations. At the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, special forces of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs provided public security and monitored law and order.
On the Day of Special Forces of the Internal Troops of the Russian Federation, demonstration performances of valiant fighters in hand-to-hand combat and other power competitions are held. And an obligatory part of the event is the laying of wreaths at memorials in honor of fallen comrades in the North Caucasus and in the line of duty.

- These are small detachments, the purpose of which is to carry out secret intelligence operations and complex combat operations. Companies and battalions of these special forces perform operational tasks in full or partial autonomy from the main groupings of troops and in extreme conditions.
Distinctive features of the elite of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are suddenness, audacity, pressure, speed, coherence of joint actions!
Stages of development of the special forces
The basis for the creation of special forces is the order of the Minister of the Interior of December 31, 1977. According to him, the first, and now the famous Vityaz detachment, was created from the training company. It was prepared to prevent and eliminate emergency situations at the Olympic Games in 1980. Employees were trained in operational actions in case of hostage taking both on the ground and in the air.
At the same time, the famous symbol appeared spetsnaz maroon beret, and your own ritual-exam to get it.
In the early 90s, the special forces expanded, the Rus, Skif, Rosich, Typhoon, Mercury and others detachments were created.
By the middle of 2000, 16 detachments were functioning. The impetus in the development of this area of activity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs occurred in 2008, when special-purpose centers began to form and function. Along with innovative types of units, such as paraplanetists, divers, etc., the promotion of special forces began at their base.
The special status of these units required additional funding for the training and equipment of employees, the acquisition of the necessary modern weapons. As part of separate division operational appointment of internal troops, training and education of command personnel began, it was acquired latest equipment, up to such vehicles as the "Tiger" and "Cascade", a qualified teaching staff has been formed and the training base has been strengthened, the latest programs of physical and combat training have been applied.
Now there are more than 30 special forces units.
Functions and tasks of a special unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
- ensuring and maintaining public order and state security;
- protection of special cargoes and special state facilities;
- participation in defense activities of the Russian Federation;
- comprehensive assistance to border services in border protection;
- release of hostages;
- detention, disarmament of especially dangerous criminals.
The geography of the unit's special operations.
In 1995, employees participated in the release of hostages in Budenovsk, then after a while, they released the hostages in the village of Pervomayskoye. In the first Chechen war, special forces groups carried out anti-terrorist activities high in the mountains, in isolation from the main groupings of troops.
Actively showed himself and with the beginning of the second Chechen company. Ten special groups, formed from FSB and SOBR operatives, acted in accordance with the assigned tasks in four regions of Chechnya. In the deep rear of the enemy, reconnaissance activities were carried out and operations were carried out directly aimed at combating bandit formations. By the fall of 2002, SOBR specialists were replaced by well-trained and well-trained special forces. They were endowed with special powers, acted separately, having subordination directly to their high command. By August 2004, GOUs were created, they operated in each region throughout the territory North Caucasus with the aim of exercising command and control of the armed forces and over the actions of the united forces in the fight against terror. As a result, the command of internal affairs led and coordinated the actions of the United Group of Forces in Chechnya and throughout the North Caucasus until the end of the campaign.
Currently, special forces are operating in Novocherkassk, Armavir, Kazan, Arkhangelsk, Ufa and other Russian cities. They participate in anti-terrorist activities and provide conditions for the elimination of riots. The membership includes past difficult tests, tests of fighters and commanders, participation is purely voluntary, formalized by contract. There are already more than 10 thousand of them.
Due to the growing changes in the geopolitical situation in the world, the priority of special forces is growing every year. Therefore, narrow-profile operations are carried out by special forces soldiers in collaboration with colleagues from Greece, Austria and other countries.
