What date do first-graders have summer holidays. School holidays are set annually by the Ministry of Education
School for students is the same work as work for their parents. And every working person knows that it is possible to carry out his duties effectively only when periods of activity alternate with time allotted for rest and recuperation. That is why students are provided not only with a short-term change of activity in the form of breaks or lessons physical education, but also the long-awaited multi-day ones.
Holidays are eagerly awaited even by those young Muscovites who are really drawn to knowledge and love to attend school. With the modern workload of students, they do not have so many free hours to take a walk in the yard, reach a new level in a computer game, or take up their favorite hobby. For representatives of the graduating classes in middle or high school, holidays provide another important opportunity - to begin (or intensify) preparation for serious life tests in the form of or.
It is quite difficult to find time to visit a tutor if the student already needs to solve many problems every day, write essays and compose essays in numerous school subjects. Information about vacation times is also of interest to parents, because everyone wants to spend a vacation with their families, traveling around the country or visiting relatives. Muscovites who already today wish to competently plan the 2018-2019 academic year should familiarize themselves with the long-term plan in advance schooling for this period.

Reform in the definition of vacation time
The educational departments of Russia have been debating the topic of vacation time for several years now. Now Russian schools in general (and Moscow schools in particular) have fairly broad rights in this matter. The educational department formulates recommendations, and the school administration, on the basis of this document, determines the dates of vacations planned for the autumn, spring, winter and summer periods. Of course, there are General requirements, which are mandatory for all school administrations in Moscow:
- students are supposed to rest from autumn to spring for at least 30-35 days;
- the first day of vacation must be on a Monday;
- on hot summer days, schoolchildren of all ages should receive two months free from study or practice;
- in the fourth system of education, each new study period must be preceded by at least seven days of rest.
Today, several options for dividing the academic year are used in metropolitan schools:
- "Quarter" classics, when students have to study for four quarters, separated by small vacations in autumn, winter and spring, as well as long summer vacations;
- trimester structure - in this case, three periods of study are interspersed with vacation periods of a longer duration than in the case of a quarter approach;
- two-semester approach - similar to the university system, only without sessions and with long vacations between study periods. Most of the time this is how it is organized. studying proccess for 10-11-graders, because they need to have time to get the maximum knowledge and learn the program necessary for passing final exams. Kids, of course, are not able to study so intensively;
- modular educational process - in this case, the academic year is divided into five relatively equal parts with little vacancies in between.
Such a diverse approach to determining the structure of the academic year has been repeatedly criticized - adherents of Soviet practice have repeatedly proposed issuing centralized instructions to school administrations. The main argument is the fact that different dates vacations do not allow you to properly plan numerous, creative contests and other activities for students.
Despite all the controversy, a unified vacation system for the Russian Federation has not been chosen
Some of the students at this time have free time, while others have to go to events, looking up from their studies. Moscow schools even conducted a survey among parents to identify which of the structural approaches could satisfy the majority of families, but no clear leader was found. Looks like 2018/2019 a year will pass normally.
Recall that the most common options in the schools of the capital are study in quarters or modular blocks, so it is for them that we will give the recommended vacation dates. The final version of the schedule will appear only in March 2019 - the Ministry of Education will formulate its recommendations approximately 6 months before the start of the study period.
Holidays in 2019 when studying in quarters
A sample schedule for the 2018/2019 academic year is as follows:
- the beginning of studies will fall on 09/03/2018 (September 1 is Saturday, so on this day some schools can only schedule a solemn line).
- autumn holidays will be held in the interval from 10/29/2018 to 11/05/2018 inclusive, as the day off is postponed to Monday due to the 4th of the Day national unity;
- The next study period will last from November 6, 2018 to December 28 (29), 2018. Perhaps, on December 29, schoolchildren will really have to study - all because the next Saturday will be appointed as the working day for December 31.
- 12/31/2018-12/10/2019 - recommended vacation dates, which can be extended until January 13 inclusive, because it is not advisable to go to class on a Friday;
- 02/02/2019-02/25/2019 - another small vacation period for primary school students. Additional rest on Monday arises due to the postponement of the Saturday celebration of Defender of the Fatherland Day to the next working day;
- 03/01/2019-03/22/2019 - the educational process, which will end with spring vacations, tentatively falling on the period from 03/25/2019 to 04/31/2019;
- 05/04/2019-24(31).05/2019 - the last period of study under the quarter system, after which summer vacation for schoolchildren.
Holidays in 2019 according to the modular system
With a modular system, students get a break every 5-6 weeks
Recall that such a schedule is usually represented by alternating 5 or 6 weeks of training, with 1 week of rest. Students will spend the year in this mode:
- 09/03/2018-10/05/2018 - the first training module. The time from 8 to 14 October 2018 is a rest period;
- 10/15/2018-11/16/2018 - the second training module. From November 19 to November 25, 2018, schoolchildren will be able to relax;
- 26.11.2018-28(29).12.2018 - the last push before the holiday vacations, which will be held from December 31 to January 10 (13), 2019 inclusive;
- 01/15/2019-02/15/2019 - a new period of study, which will end with holidays from February 18 to February 25, 2019;
- 02/26/2019-04/05/2019 - a module allocated for mastering new knowledge, after which students will have a spring break from April 8 to April 14, 2019;
- 04/15/2019-24 (31). 05/2019 - the last push before finishing the next academic year and leaving with peace of mind for summer holidays.
Despite the fact that just a month ago, schoolchildren sat down at their desks and started studying, many of them are already looking forward to the fall holidays of 2018. The rest schedule for Russian schoolchildren, as you know, has already been approved, and you can familiarize yourself with it.
However, keep in mind: the provided schedule is considered recommended: each educational institution has the right to regulate the schedule itself school holidays, and although it is not recommended to deviate greatly from generally accepted norms, the period of vacation may differ in different schools.
In addition to traditional quarters, schools can now study according to other systems - modules, trimesters, and even bimestres. The difference is that the holidays for each such school begin at different times and also last in different ways. And each approach has its supporters.
For example, adherents of modules and trimesters say that such a system allows solving the problem of a long third quarter, when children sag in school due to beriberi and accumulated fatigue. Traditional quarters are good because most museums and children's theaters adjust to this schedule, and it is much easier to organize a joint vacation with a child.
The total number of rest days is the same for all systems. This is 30 days during the school year (for first graders - 35 days) and three months in the summer.
Summer holidays for students elementary school will also start earlier - usually they start on May 23-25. But older children study longer, until June 1. The 9th and 11th grade graduates were the least lucky: because of the State Academic Examination and the Unified State Examination, they will study until the beginning of July.
According to what schedule children will study, the school decides. This decision is made at a meeting of the governing council, which includes not only teachers and administration, but also representatives of parents and the students themselves.
The Ministry of Education (formerly the Ministry of Education and Science) usually publishes recommended vacation schedules for different educational systems, which take public holidays into account. But the school can adjust this schedule to suit their needs - for example, holidays can start a couple of days earlier or later.
Therefore, it is better to look for the final schedule of holidays and holidays adopted by the school on its official website - it must be published no later than September.
Traditionally, schoolchildren who study in quarters rest for 7 days in autumn and spring, and two weeks in winter. In addition, taking into account the New Year and autumn holidays, the school administration may add two more additional days to the autumn or winter holidays.
An approximate vacation schedule is as follows:
- Autumn holidays - from October 29 to November 4, 2018
- Winter holidays - from December 26, 2018 to January 8, 2019
- Spring break - from 25 to 31 March 2019.
There are additional holidays for first-graders - they will be held from February 25 to March 3. This is necessary in order to dose the load and not to overwhelm the baby with studies from head to toe. Such additional vacations will help those who are lagging behind catch up with the rest, and those who are already doing well with their studies will simply take a breath.
The vacation schedule for these systems is almost the same - but each school can make adjustments to it. Typically, a module or semester is designed for 5-6 weeks, after which there is a week of vacation.
The schedule of modular or semester holidays will be something like this:
- Autumn holidays will be held twice - from 8 to 14 October and from 19 to 25 November 2018.
- Winter holidays will also be held twice - from December 29, 2018 to January 8, 2019, and also from February 18 to 24, 2019.
- Spring break alone - from 8 to 14 April.
For trimesters, the schedule will essentially be the same. Under this system, the year is divided into three academic parts (autumn, winter and spring), with holidays in between and an additional week of rest in the middle of each trimester.
Additional holidays or postponement of holidays in schools and other educational institutions possible for the following reasons:
- Low air temperature - minus 25 degrees Celsius for elementary school; minus 28 degrees - for high school; minus 30 degrees for students in grades 10 and 11.
- Low temperature in classrooms. When the air temperature in the classrooms is below +18 degrees, classes are prohibited.
- Quarantine and exceeding the threshold of morbidity. Quarantine can be declared in a separate school, a separate district, city or region if the epidemic threshold of incidence of 25% of the total number of students is exceeded.
In addition to the traditional Saturdays, Sundays and holidays in the 2019 2019 academic year, the following dates for public holidays are set:
- November 4, 2018 is a day off in honor of National Unity Day. Since the holiday falls on Saturday, for schoolchildren, Monday November 6 will be an additional day after the autumn holidays.
- February 23, 2019 - day off in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day;
- March 8, 2019 - International Women's Day;
- May 1, 2019 - Holiday of Spring and Labor;
- May 9, 2019 - Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War.
In institutes, universities and other higher educational institutions, vacations during the 2018-2019 academic year will be less, as students rest only in winter and summer. Each university appoints the exact vacation schedule for students depending on the dates of the sessions. Winter holidays for students begin at the end of January and end in mid-February.
In the summer, student vacation dates also depend on the session and practice, which is often scheduled for June, which means that you can go on vacation only in July. Also, the practice can be postponed to August, and the holidays will begin as early as mid-June. It all depends on the particular university, therefore, in order to carefully plan your vacation, you need to clarify the data in the administration of the university. The only thing that can be said for sure is that the holidays should not be less than 6 weeks.

When and from what date do schoolchildren have spring holidays in 2018 in Russia?
Third academic quarter- the longest, and, of course, many schoolchildren want spring break to start as soon as possible.
A break for the holidays is a great opportunity to relax after almost three months of study and make the last breakthrough in preparing for the OGE and the Unified State Examination. For those who do not need to prepare for passing the OGE and the Unified State Exam will be able to take more walks in the fresh air or take up their hobbies during the spring break.
It is important to note that according to the law "On Education of the Russian Federation" it is indicated that an educational institution can independently choose a system for organizing training and set rest periods.
However, there are general rules, and because of this, often all schools in which teaching is in quarters go on vacation on the same days.
So, if the school studies in quarters, then this indicates that four quarters are supposed, different in their duration:
– 1 quarter – 8 weeks;
– 2nd quarter – 8 weeks;
- 3rd quarter - 10 weeks (for first grades) and 11 weeks (for grades 2-11);
- 4th quarter - 8 weeks (for grades 1-4, 9 and 11) and 9 weeks (for grades 5-8, 10).
When and from what date are spring holidays for schoolchildren in 2018 in Russia
Regional educational authorities can independently set the dates of holidays, and the schedule of days free from study.

– autumn holidays: October 28 – November 5;
– winter holidays: December 28 – January 8;
– spring break: March 24 – April 1;

Based on this schedule, we can conclude that most students will go on spring break this year from March 24th. They will return to school on April 2.
Rest of schoolchildren on spring break 2018
Unfortunately, unlike winter holidays, which also affect adults, spring holidays for children often take place without the participation of parents, that is, most often boys and girls are left to their own devices. If you do not think over their leisure time in advance, then the children are likely to spend everything free time on computers or smartphones.
For a young organism, such a combination of circumstances is very detrimental, so we recommend that you look at alternative options for spending spring break. Of course, it is good when there is an opportunity to send a child to warm countries (for example, to the sea), where he can enjoy the sun and get a lot of impressions.
But not all parents have this opportunity. Therefore, it is better to think about more economical options. For example, children's camps that gather children depending on their age and hobbies. You can also organize a sightseeing trip around Russia or to any other state, get acquainted with new cultures and their traditions.
Winter holidays in schools usually last about two weeks and the current academic year will not be an exception. Schoolchildren will have a rest in honor of the New Year holidays from December 26, 2018 to January 8, 2019.
Vacation calendar 2018-2019
Each school can set the vacation schedule independently, adhering to the recommendations developed in legislative acts. Holidays in the summer should be no shorter than 8 weeks. And school holidays during the school year should not be less than 30 calendar days. Holidays must start on Monday and cannot be extended by more than 2 weeks.
The 2018-2019 academic year starts on September 1st. Educational process will last 34 weeks, excluding final certification and the holidays will last 18 weeks.
In addition, students will have rest during public holidays.

- Winter - from December 30, 2018 to January 8, 2019.
- Additional holidays for first-graders - from February 16 to February 24, 2019.
School holidays on quarters. St. Petersburg

- Spring break - from March 23 to March 31, 2019.
- Additional holidays for first graders - from February 4 to February 10, 2019.
Each school can choose a vacation schedule on its own, but it is necessary to meet the deadlines.
Russia is a huge country. It happens that due to unforeseen circumstances (natural disasters, quarantine) children cannot go to school. If this continues for 3-4 days, then the students are able to catch up with the program. But in cases where students do not attend an educational institution for more than a week, it is possible to change the vacation schedule. Or some weekends can be made into training days.
How to organize a vacation
Before leaving for the holidays, all children must listen to instructions on how to behave properly during the holidays. Classroom teachers should explain to students what can be done, what is not.
A separate topic should be devoted to the rules of the road, since a large number of traffic accidents involving children occur during the holidays.
If the students go on summer vacation, parents must inform where and with whom their children will be. Before the summer holidays, parents must also listen to the briefing and sign for it.
What to do with kids on vacation
How fast children grow. More recently, a baby sniffled comfortably in the crib. He constantly needed love and care: feed, change clothes, calm down. Now he is already a schoolboy, a person, a person who is able to come home from school, change into home clothes, have something to eat, and even, if there is a mood, then wash the dishes and sit down for lessons. But it's too early for parents to relax. He is still a child and he needs the supervision and attention of his parents. Especially during the holidays, when a lot of free time falls on him. What you can do with your child during the holidays largely depends on the time of year they fall on.
Autumn vacation
The first since the beginning of the school year are the autumn holidays. Autumn is a very beautiful time of the year. So that the child can appreciate all its charm, take him to the forest or park. There, the child can be shown what kind of trees, shrubs and herbs grow in our area. Tell why the leaves fall in autumn and make a beautiful bouquet out of it. And at the same time, collect beautiful twigs, berries, cones and make fun crafts out of them, the ideas of which you can peep on the Internet or come up with something to your taste. Such products can be a great gift for grandparents or home decoration. They will help to keep the memory of a wonderful autumn day. Winter holidays follow the autumn holidays.
Winter holiday
In winter, it's time to get skis or skates from the mezzanines. If there is no money for a ski resort or an indoor skating rink, it does not matter. You can have a great time with a sled on the nearest hill or yard skating rink, if there is one. And having rolled enough to make a snowman, play snowballs or just lie in the snow.
Spring break
Spring break can also be spent outdoors. Put on rubber boots and become brave captains of paper boats that can be launched in the surrounding streams and puddles. Or go to the park to admire the nature coming to life after winter. If you collect a bouquet of twigs with buds and, having come home, put them in water, then soon tiny leaves will appear on them. Not only the child, but also adults will be happy to follow their gradual appearance.
Vacation in summer
Summer holidays are the longest and most suitable for outdoor recreation. Parents have the opportunity to come up with something new every day. Biking, rollerblading or walking. Hiking and kayaking on the river or relaxing on the beach. Football, beach volleyball or family picnics. Picking berries and mushrooms or reading a book on a park bench. It all depends on the temperament, physical abilities or just the mood of the parents and the child.
If the weather leaves much to be desired
Rest on outdoors very useful for all family members, but if, suddenly, the weather is completely inclement: be it unbearable heat in summer, drizzling autumn rain or severe winter cold, you can always go to the theater, museum, library, water park or sit in a cozy cafe.
At home with a child
Unfortunately, sometimes it also happens that plans, but the weather or the health of one of the family members fails. Then numerous board games, funny charades, needlework, reading aloud or family films can come to the rescue. The main thing is not to be lazy and not be afraid to come up with something new. After all, the ease and mood with which the subsequent training period will pass with your treasure depends on how well the holidays are spent for the benefit of the soul and body.
Many studies show that by the end of the school year, it becomes more difficult for children to study than during it. The reason for this is child psychology and their natural desire for an active life, and not for forced education. To help the younger generation cope with the load and fully facilitate the process of assimilation of new information, vacations were invented. It is not surprising that every student and his parents are so eager to find out the dates for the spring break of 2018 in the Russian Federation in order to fully think over and organize the rest in the most effective and interesting way.
When does spring break start in 2018?
At the moment, we can only say roughly how the school holidays will be formed, since each educational institution has its own approved vacation schedule for the spring of 2018. Despite this fact, in most Russian schools spring Break 2018, will take place during from March 24 to April 1 2018 inclusive, so their duration will be 9 days. It should be noted that in some educational institutions, the periods of rest for schoolchildren may be shifted in relation to the above, so do not be surprised if your school, lyceum, etc., holidays in the spring of 2018 will be held from March 19 to 25, or from April 1 to April 8, 2018.
Who determines the timing of spring break at school
Naturally, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation becomes the first authority on the way of determining the dates for the beginning and end of school spring holidays. It is there that education standards are prescribed and the abilities of students across the country are assessed. Based on the data obtained, recommendations are formed on setting the dates of days off and the time of study in various educational institutions. After that, each school, gymnasium or lyceum forms its own, terms and schedule holidays, depending on the method of learning that is welcomed in this institution. In turn, schoolchildren's parents can also influence the management's opinion by making suggestions in the formation of the educational process.
