KANGAROO HAVE LONG AND QUITE BIG EARS. THEY CAN MOVE INDEPENDENTLY ONE FROM THE OTHER - THIS HELP THE ANIMALS CAPTURE THE WEAKEST SOUNDS. AND REALLY, KANGAROO HAS A STRONGLY DEVELOPED HEARING. WOMBAT
- With their sharp claws, they tear out small habitable caves in the ground, which sometimes form complex tunnel systems. As a rule, most of them reach about
- 20 meters long and 3.5 meters deep.
- Wombats -
- the largest of modern mammals engaged in digging and spending most of their lives underground.
- At first glance, it looks like a hedgehog, but in reality it is very different from it. The female lays one egg and carries it in her pouch. Her hatchling develops in the pouch and licks off the secretions of the mammary glands of the mother. Thanks to its sharp needles, the echidna has almost no natural enemies, with the exception of the natives, who sometimes eat its meat.
- This is a dense and squat animal the size of a small dog, but with a heavy build and dark coloration, it looks more like a miniature bear. The length of its body is 50–80 cm, the tail is 23–30 cm. The size of the body depends on age, habitat and nutrition. Males are larger than females. Large males weigh up to 12 kg with a shoulder height of up to 30 cm.
- A bird about two meters high, the Australian ostrich Emu. Lives in large herds that constantly move in search of food and water.
- On a tree, the koala spends most of its time, rarely descending to the ground. These animals are found in the eastern part of Australia, which is especially rich in eucalyptus forests.
- Dingo is a feral domestic dog, the only placental predator in the aboriginal fauna of Australia. Dingoes are predominantly nocturnal animals. Their main habitats in Australia are the edges of moist forests, dry eucalyptus thickets, arid semi-deserts in the depths of the mainland.

The official name, Australia, comes from the Latin word for "southern". Fragments from the legends of the times ancient rome about the "unknown southern land" were cited in medieval books on geography, but they were not confirmed until April 29, 1770, when James Cook and his crew on the ship "Endeavor" stopped off the eastern shores, and in August of the same year proclaimed the New South Wales (as he christened Australia) was the domain of the English king.
Australia is unique in that it is the smallest continent and at the same time the largest island. It is also the only country in the world that occupies the territory of an entire mainland. The capital of the country is so small that it can hardly be found on the map.
slide 4
Most of the country's territory is occupied by vast deserts and lowlands. However, the Europeans who set foot on new land, unofficially called it the "green continent", because real dense forests grow along the coast and it was them that travelers saw in the first place.
slide 5
In the southern hemisphere, namely Australia is located there, the opposite is true: from December to February - summer, besides, the nature and fauna of this country are unusual and amazing in beauty.
Many of Australia's wild animals are found only here. These are platypuses and echidnas, various marsupials (koalas, kangaroos), a kiwi bird that cannot fly and sniffs out insects, emu ostriches. Australia is home to the largest number of venomous snakes in the world.
slide 6
Most Australian mammals are marsupials: they have a deep fold of skin on their abdomen called a pouch. Their cubs are born very tiny - no more than one or one and a half centimeters long, completely blind and without hairline, deprived of the ability to live independently. Immediately after birth, they move into a bag, inside of which there are nipples with milk; the cub clings to the nipple and grows little by little.
Slide 7
KANGAROO
The appearance of this animal is such that you cannot confuse it with anyone: the front legs are short, which gives it some resemblance to a person, and the hind legs, on the contrary, are long and adapted for jumping. The tail is long and strong. There are many types of kangaroos. Some are found on vast expanses of semi-dry prairies, others live in bushes under trees, and still others in the wet zone. The red kangaroo is the best known; it lives in groups of various sizes on the prairie, where it was easy for zoologists to study it, since these animals are not very afraid of humans.
Kangaroos have long and rather large ears. They can move independently of one another - this helps the animals pick up the faintest sounds. Indeed, the kangaroo has a highly developed hearing.
The kangaroo does not rest on its front paws when standing on the ground. They serve the animal for grasping objects - the fingers are very well adapted for this purpose.
Sometimes kangaroos fight among themselves to establish their dominance. Duelists stand opposite each other, leaning on their hind legs and tail. To strike, they grab each other with their front paws, raise their legs, holding on to only one tail, and deliver powerful blows with them. Causing serious wounds with their sharp claws.
Before leaving the pouch on the mother's belly, the baby kangaroo is in it for about eight months.
It often happens that a female kangaroo stops nursing a cub that is already in the pouch, because another, barely born, takes its place. At the same time, a third cub develops inside it. A kangaroo is born blind and naked, two centimeters long and weighing only one gram.
For fast movement, for example, when they are scared away, kangaroos make long jumps, using their tail as a rudder, and their hind legs to push. Despite the large mass - up to 70 kilograms, they develop high speed.
The tail, which becomes thinner at the end, is very muscular and can reach one meter in length.
The tree kangaroo is the smallest of the red kangaroos. Its lower and upper limbs do not differ much in length. He lives in the forest, usually in the trees.
Slide 8
KOALA
This marsupial looks like a bear cub and weighs about 15 kilograms. The koala is covered with gray hair, lighter on the belly. The front paws with sharp claws are well adapted to the life in the trees, which this animal leads, and help it to climb dexterously. He spends most of his time on a tree, rarely descending to the ground. These animals are found in the eastern part of Australia, which is especially rich in eucalyptus forests.
Every day, a koala eats about one kilogram of eucalyptus leaves.
In appearance, the koala is dense, but it is very agile and is able to deftly jump from branch to branch and from one tree to another. Only when the trees are far apart does the animal descend to the ground. Usually, a koala spends its whole life on eucalyptus branches.
The koala feeds only on eucalyptus leaves and among them chooses the oldest, not the youngest. Zoologists have found that young leaves contain a strong poison - a strong acid, so animals avoid eating them.
Slide 9
PLATYPUS
The platypus is a very special lower mammal. It has a large spade-shaped beak, which makes it look like a bird. Although the platypus is a mammal, its female lays eggs, usually two of them, in a soft filmy shell, which they incubate in the nest for about ten days. The cubs are born blind, completely devoid of hair, and the mother feeds them, lying on her back - the babies lick off the milk that is secreted from the milky pores on the skin. When the cubs are old enough, the mother takes them to the water to hunt for small animals.
The beak of the platypus is wide and flat, outwardly reminiscent of a bird. The platypus has no teeth at all, only two horny tubercles on the tongue, which serve to grind food. The platypus grinds food on the upper part of the beak, equipped with a horn fold.
The platypus arranges the entrance to the hole directly on the shore of the reservoir, in which it usually spends time.
The body of the platypus is well adapted to life in the water. On the contrary, on land, the platypus is clumsy and moves with difficulty.
The platypus spends most of its time in a burrow that it digs near running water. Early in the morning and late in the evening, the animal leaves the hole and hunts small aquatic animals - larvae, worms, fish and crustaceans for no more than one hour. In water, it moves quite quickly due to the streamlined body shape and webbed feet, well adapted for swimming.
Slide 10
ECHIDNA
At first glance, it looks like a hedgehog, but in reality it is very different from it. The female lays one egg and carries it in her pouch. Her hatchling develops in the pouch and licks off the secretions of the mammary glands of the mother. Thanks to its sharp needles, the echidna has almost no natural enemies, with the exception of the natives, who sometimes eat its meat.
slide 11
EMU
Emu is a large bird that looks very much like an ostrich. For this reason, the emu was previously called the Australian ostrich and was assigned to the Ostrich order. However, it has now been proven that emus are closer to cassowaries.
A bird about two meters high, the Australian ostrich. Lives in large herds that constantly move in search of food and water. The female emu lays large green eggs, but the male does the incubation.
slide 12
KUZU
Also a nocturnal marsupial animal, living mainly on trees. It has a tenacious tail, which can firmly hold on to tree branches, like monkeys. It feeds on leaves, flowers and bark, but does not disdain the eggs of birds. Often these animals live close to people, often forming numerous and noisy colonies.
slide 13
WOMBAT
It lives in the southern regions of Australia. Digs a deep forked hole. Nourishes roots, leaves and fungi.
Slide 14
BRUTAL SNAKE
Australia is also home to the largest number of venomous snakes and spiders in the world. Here is such an inconspicuous, but the most poisonous land snake in the world - one bite of poison is enough to kill 100 people!
Here is such a beautiful, unusually mysterious and dangerous mainland Australia.

"JOURNEY TO AUSTRALIA"
Target:to form in children an idea of the features of the nature of Australia.
Tasks:
Describe the flora and fauna of Australia.
Give an idea of the relationship of living organisms with the environment (marsupials)
Equipment:electronic presentation "Journey to Australia", equipment for the experiment "Change of seasons".
Lesson progress:
slide 2
Educator:
Guys, we are already traveling a lot, we have already seen a lot, so I suggest you play the game "Who lives where?". The rules of the game are simple: you just need to send the animal to the continent where it lives.(A slide with a map of the world is projected onto the screen and animals appear 1 at a time, the children must name the mainland where the animal lives. If the answer is correct, the animal will move to its habitat. When it comes to the kangaroo, depending on the preparedness of the children, there is a difficulty - children do not know where the animal lives).
Educator:
Look, this animal jumps well, maybe it is a mountain animal and lives somewhere in Asia or America?(children's answers)
Or maybe this animal lives in the American prairies or the African savannah? And he has a bag so that the cub is always in the shade! Yes, and in the savannah there is a lot of grass to eat!(children's answers)
Where could we meet him?(children's answers)
Today we will go on a journey to the smallest continent on earth -Australia. (the teacher shows the continent on the map)
How far do you think Australia is from us?(children's answers)
The teacher shows Australia on the map.
What do you think is the best way to get to Australia?(children's answers)
Australia is located in the southern hemisphere and therefore when we have winter, it is summer in Australia and vice versa. Why do you think?(children's answers)
With the help of a globe and a flashlight, the teacher demonstrates the experience "Change of seasons". The teacher draws the attention of the children that when the sun illuminates the northern hemisphere, then the southern light of the sun almost does not fall, so the seasons change.
slide 3
Australia is also called the driest continent, because Australia has two large deserts - the Great Victoria Desert and the Great Sandy Desert, and the rest of the territory is mostly steppe. There are almost no water bodies. Only flows through Australiaone big river- Murray. There are, of course, small tributaries, but not so many. There are few lakes in Australia and they are all salty. Why do you think there are so few rivers and lakes in Australia?(children's answers)
There is very little precipitation in Australia, most of it falls in the southeastern part, so most of the rivers are located there. And the lakes are the former sea, because they are below the level of the oceans.
slide 4
The vegetation of Australia is not as diverse as, for example, the vegetation of Eurasia. Mostly eucalyptus forests. Eucalyptus is one of the tallest trees in the world. Its height can reach 100 meters. Eucalyptus is a sun lover, so its leaves are arranged so that no leaf is in the shade of another. The wood of this tree is so strong that it is widely used in construction. Eucalyptus juice is a good anti-inflammatory, which is why it is added to all cold medicines.
slide 5
And here is our familiar kangaroo! Kangaroo - a very large animal, with a long thick tail and a bag on its stomach. It has long and very strong hind legs. Why do kangaroos have such legs?(children's answers)
Indeed, this animal moves with large, powerful jumps, while relying on its tail. The kangaroo moves very quickly across the steppe, without encountering obstacles in its path.
slide 6
The kangaroo has an enemywild dog dingo . This is a cunning and intelligent animal, in addition, it is very cautious. Therefore, the only way to escape from it is to flee. If it is not possible to escape, the kangaroo defends itself from the enemy with its powerful hind legs. With a blow from the hind leg, a kangaroo can even break a dog's head.
Slide 7
Guys, kangaroos are marsupials. Why do you think he needs a bag on his stomach?(children's answers)
A kangaroo is born tiny and helpless. This is a pink lump 3 cm in size and weighing no more than 3-5 grams, similar to a worm. For 6 whole months he sits in his mother's bag, sucks milk and grows up.
Slide 8
Six months later, he crawls out of his mother's pouch for the first time and walks around his mother, and at the first danger jumps back into his shelter. It will take another two months before the kangaroo finally leaves the bag.
Slide 9
There are other marsupials in Australia besides the kangaroo. For example, another representative of this class is the marsupial bear.Koala. Koala is the smallest bear in the world. It lives in trees and feeds on eucalyptus leaves. During the day, they sleep all the time or sit motionless, clutching the tree with their front paws. When all the leaves around are eaten, or you just want to change your place of residence, the koala moves to another tree. If it is not possible to reach the new tree from the old tree, the koala reluctantly and very awkwardly descends to the ground. But they jump from tree to tree very dexterously and gracefully. In case of danger, they quickly climb the first tree on the way. By the way, koalas can swim.
What animal does this bear remind you of?(children answer)
Slide 10
There is another amazing animal in Australia -platypus . What a strange name!
Can you tell me why they named it that?(children answer)
The body of the platypus is squat, short-legged; the tail is flattened, similar to the tail, but covered with hair, which thins noticeably with age. In the tail of the platypus, reserves of fat are deposited. Its fur is thick, soft, usually dark brown on the back and reddish or gray on the belly. The head is round. The muzzle of the platypus is extended into a flat beak, but not hard like in birds, but soft, covered with skin. The paws of the platypus are five-fingered, adapted for both swimming and digging. For swimming, the platypus does not use its hind legs, like other semi-aquatic animals, but its front legs. The hind legs act as a rudder in the water. While looking for prey, the platypus continuously moves its head from side to side during spearfishing. The platypus, like all animals, feeds its young with milk, but they hatch from eggs, like those of birds or reptiles.
slide 11
And here are our old friends -budgies. These birds do so well in captivity that they have become the most common pets after dogs and cats. They understand and reproduce human speech very well.
All the animals we talked about today can only live in Australia!
Summary of the lesson:
Name the smallest continent on earth.
Name the most tall tree in a world that grows in Australia.
Name marsupials.
Name the driest continent on Earth.
Name an animal that feeds its children with milk, like all animals, but hatches them from eggs, like birds.

A long time ago in India they came up with a game where the king, although the main figure, does not mean much without the support and protection of other figures. This game is called chess.
Legend and history of chess.
There is a legend about the history of the origin of the chess game.
Long ago, there lived a despotic Rajah in India. One of the people close to him decided to show the ruler how dependent he was on his subjects, and came up with a game where the king (king, shah), although the main figure, does not mean much without the support and protection of other figures. The game turned out to be surprisingly interesting, and the raja, who did not notice the moralizing hint, offered the creator any reward.
And, as the legend of chess says, the latter expressed a desire to receive an award with grains, but in such a way that for the first field chessboard he was given one grain, for the second - two, for the third - four, then eight, sixteen, etc.
Since there are only sixty-four squares on the board, the raja thought to get by with one or two bags, but in fact it turned out that in the whole world one could not find as many grains as needed in order to satisfy the wish of the cunning inventor. Such is the legend of the wise chess game and its creator.
Be that as it may, the history of chess begins in Asia, and India is indeed considered the birthplace of chess.

Presentation “Journey to England with Mary Poppins.
Mary Poppins: Dear children! I want to invite you to visit my home country. To the UK! Let's find it on the map! This is the flag of Great Britain.
Great Britain is big country. They speak English in it. Most of country is on the island.
The country is divided into several parts. The largest and most populous part of Great Britain is England. The capital of England is the city of London. The river Thames flows in London, with magnificent bridges. The most beautiful and interesting Tower Bridge with two towers. This is a drawbridge. There are tall double-decker buses in London.
We got to the main street of London, Piccadilly. Let's take a look at the subway. London's subway is the oldest in Europe. There is always a dispenser of free newspapers in front of the subway entrance, which, by the way, is customary to leave after reading on the seat for the next passenger. Everyone in England likes to drink tea. The British start with tea in the morning - they drink it immediately after waking up, during breakfast, in the middle of the working day and in the evening.
London, like in a fairy tale, has a real royal palace, and a real queen, king, princes and princesses live in the palace. Let's look into the palace and walk through its halls. Meet Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain.
Queen Elizabeth has been fond of horseback riding since childhood.
The Queen travels around the city in carriages. The Queen's palace is guarded by guards in red uniforms and high black caps. The Queen's only daughter is Princess Anne. The Queen of England has three more sons: Prince Charles, Prince, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward.
There is also an old clock tower in London. She is over a hundred years old. But despite her venerable age, she remains one of the most beautiful in the world. She has a funny name: Big Ben. I will open for you little secret. In fact, this name "Big Ben" has long been called the largest bell of the five hour bells of this tower.
The largest and loudest bell on this tower was called "Big Ben". And people were so used to saying “Big Ben” when the clock was striking, that soon the tower itself began to be called only like this: “Big Ben”. That's what she's called now.

Journey to Japan
Japanese children invite us to an amazing country - Japan. This country is very far from Moscow and therefore the guys from the Japanese kindergarten sent by e-mail their story about their country and sent photos.
Japan is in the east. This is the land of the rising sun.
The red circle of the flag represents the rising sun of Japan. The capital of Japan is Tokyo. There are many mountains in Japan. In Japan, they love children very much and do a lot for them.
On the third of March (around this time peach blossoms in Japan) they celebrate Hina-matsuri, a holiday that in Russian is called the holiday of girls. In Japan, the girls' holiday is often called the holiday of dolls - Hina Matsuri. In the old days, on this day it was supposed to perform a magical ceremony of getting rid of illnesses, misfortunes and other troubles. Little men were knitted from the grass and laid in the children's bed, and in the morning the dolls, which had absorbed all the diseases, were thrown into the river. Later, dolls began to be made of paper, all adversities were magically transferred to them and burned, buried in it or thrown into water flow. During the Girls' Festival, puppet bazaars are noisy on the city streets. There, they sell china dolls for every taste. But usually they try to buy them in advance, in February, at special puppet markets.
The Boys' Day is celebrated on May 5th (during which time the irises bloom) and is officially called Tango no Sekku (First Day of the Horse). This name was chosen because the horse symbolizes courage, courage and courage, that is, all the qualities that a young man must possess in order to become a worthy warrior. The Feast of the Boys is even older than the Feast of the Girls. Previously, ritual figurines of warriors in full combat attire were exhibited in houses, more often historical figures and heroes of Japanese myths and legends. In many areas, kites are flown on May 5, sometimes reaching a length of 15 m. In Japan, people eat with chopsticks. In Japan, in ancient times, Origami appeared, this is the art of folding paper figures. "Ori" in Japanese means "to fold" and "Kami" means paper.
