Composition on the theme of Yashka and Volodya in the story Kazakov's quiet morning. Analysis of the story "Quiet Morning" (Yu
(1 option)
Yuri Pavlovich Kazakov is a prose writer of the second half of the twentieth century. The writer has a special ability: to write about typical things, but to characterize them from an unusual side.
In Yuri Kazakov's story "Quiet Morning", two boys are depicted as the main characters: Volodya, a city dweller, and Yashka, a simple village boy. Yashka is a typical resident of the countryside, a connoisseur of real fishing. The portrait of the hero is remarkable: old pants and shirt, bare feet, dirty fingers. The boy was scornful
To the question of the city Volodya: "Isn't it too early?" The city boy is the exact opposite of Yashka: he was going fishing in boots. The guys quarreled over a trifle, so they are angry with each other. But Volodya has a softer and more compliant character, so he does not ask unnecessary questions, fearing to anger Yashka even more. Gradually, thanks to Volodya's complete delight from the early morning walk, the tension between the boys subsides, they begin to have a lively conversation about fishing. Yashka readily talks about the peculiarities of biting at dawn, about the fish that is found in the local reservoirs, explains the sounds heard in the forest, talks about the river.
Future fishing brings the boys closer. Nature, as it were, is in tune with the mood of the characters: it attracts with its beauty. Volodya, like Yashka, begins to feel nature, the gloomy pool of the river frightens with its depth. After some time, Volodya fell into the water. Yashka, seeing that his partner is drowning, makes the only right decision: he rushes into cold water to save Volodya: “Feeling that he was about to suffocate, Yashka rushed to Volodya, grabbed him by the shirt, closed his eyes, hastily pulled Volodya’s body up ... Without releasing Volodya’s shirt, he began to push him to the shore. Swimming was hard. Feeling the bottom under his feet, Yashka put Volodya on the shore with his chest, his face in the grass, he heavily climbed out himself and pulled Volodya out. Yashka's tears at the end of the story testify to the great relief experienced by the hero. Seeing Volodya’s smile, Yashka “roared, roared bitterly, inconsolably, shaking his whole body, choking and ashamed of his tears, he cried for joy, from the fear experienced, from the fact that everything ended well ...”.
Both heroes from Y. Kazakov's story "Quiet Morning" showed themselves with better side, and Yashka saved his friend like a real hero.
(Option 2).
There are two main characters in the story - Yashka and Volodya. Yashka is a village boy, completely independent, well aware of fishing places, many times he went to thrushes. Volodya is a Moscow schoolboy who never held a fishing rod in his hands, never caught birds.
The guys got up early to go fishing. Yashka got up two hours earlier, dug up worms and woke up Volodya. He, although he was looking forward to this morning, almost ruined both Yashka and himself fishing, since he had not yet woken up.
Children look at the little things in life differently. Yashka despises the Muscovite for going fishing in boots: “I should have contacted this Muscovite, who, probably, hasn’t even seen fish in his eyes, goes fishing in boots! ..” For Volodya, walking barefoot means showing off: “Just think, the importance of walking barefoot is great! What imaginations!” The feeling of resentment does not prevent Volodya from being ashamed of his awkwardness and admiring Yashka's tan, clothes, and gait. And Yashkin's anger was softened by Volodya's confession that he had never fished. They just almost got into a fight, and immediately they are enthusiastically discussing the prospects for future night fishing. Not embarrassed by his ignorance, a Muscovite asks about everything that is interesting and incomprehensible to him. Yashka answers in detail, without asking or teasing. Volodya enjoys the morning: “How nice and easy it is to breathe, how you want to run along this soft road, rush at full speed, bouncing and squealing with delight!” Finally we came to a fishing place, a pool in which none of the locals bathe, because it is deep, the water is cold, and Mishka Kayunenok is lying that octopuses are found there. Volodya clumsily throws, and the fishing line clings to the willow. Yashka, swearing at the inept Muscovite, himself missed the fish. Volodya at first not so much catches as follows the struggle of Yashka with a large bream, his “heart was beating furiously”, and then, unable to maintain balance in the struggle with his fish, falls into the pool. At first, Yashka swears (“Damnable fool!”), Then he takes a clod of earth to throw in the face of the clumsy as soon as he emerges, but in the next moment he realizes that Volodya is drowning.
Saving Volodya is the merit of Yasha, he himself would not have got out, and at some point Yasha no longer believed that Volodya would survive.
This scene, of course, characterizes Yasha, here he becomes the main character of the story. At first, Yasha automatically backed away from the water, firstly, so as not to fall off himself, and secondly, because he remembered the stories about the octopus. Then, “driven by terrible sounds,” he rushed to the village for help, but stopped, “as if stumbling, feeling that it was impossible to escape,” there was no one to rely on. When Yashka returned, Volodya had already disappeared under the water. Overcoming himself, Yasha "shouted and rolled down", "jumped into the water, swam up to Volodya in two strokes, grabbed his hand." Volodya clung to Yasha and almost drowned him. Pulling the Muscovite away from him, Yasha swam away and caught his breath. So everything around was beautiful, the morning was so quiet, “and meanwhile, just now, quite recently, a terrible thing happened - a man just drowned, and it was he, Yashka, who hit him, drowned him.”
The author does not describe Yasha's feelings at this moment. Volodya is no longer visible, and Yashka has to dive to find him. There is no description of feelings here, there is only a description of actions: “Yashka blinked, let go of the sedge, moved his shoulders under his wet shirt, breathed deeply, intermittently and dived.” It turned out that Volodya got entangled with his foot in the tall grass. Yasha, out of breath, swam out himself and pulled Volodya out. But the tests didn't end there. Yashka began to do artificial respiration - it does not help. It became even more terrible, because everything turned out to be in vain: "I would run away somewhere, hide, just not to see this indifferent, cold face." You can't run away, there's no one to help you. And the boy acts again, does everything he can and knows: “Yashka sobbed in horror, jumped up, grabbed Volodya by the legs, pulled him up as far as he could, and, turning purple from the effort, began to shake.” Water gushed out of Volodya's mouth when the exhausted Yasha wanted to "drop everything and run wherever his eyes look." Not every adult would force himself to do what he could for it. a short time Yashka. And again, Yashka reacts to the situation in stages: at first, “he didn’t love anyone now more than Volodya,” and then tears poured from his eyes. Both guys came to their senses, both in shock from what had happened. The only thing that can now, horrified and surprised, Volodya say: “How am I drowning!” ah…”
And all this happened to them in a short time, in the morning. During these few hours, especially during the few minutes that passed in the struggle for Volodya's life, we learned what kind of person Yasha would be when he grew up, how he would behave in a critical situation.
Today you get to know the story . There are two main characters in the story - Volodya and Yashka. This story is based on a real case. Before turning to the analysis of the story, we will make a small plan:
- Early morning
- Yashka wakes up Volodya
- On the way to fishing
- Fishing
- Volodya is drowning
- Saving Volodya
- Yashka and Volodya on the way home
Let's spend detailed analysis story according to plan.
So, the beginning of the story is the morning when Yashka wakes up:
Sleepy roosters had just crowed, it was still dark in the hut, the mother was not milking the cow, and the shepherd was not driving the herd into the meadows when Yashka woke up.
He sat up in bed, staring for a long time at the bluish, sweaty windows, at the dimly whitening stove. The pre-dawn dream was sweet, and his head fell on the pillow, his eyes stuck together, but Yashka overcame himself.
Soon the first landscape sketch appears in the story. Nature becomes actor(Fig. 2):
The village, like a big duvet, was covered with fog. The nearby houses were still visible, the distant ones were barely visible as dark spots, and even further, towards the river, nothing was visible, and it seemed that there had never been a windmill on a hill, or a fire tower, or a school, or a forest on the horizon .. .
Rice. 2. Quiet morning ()
Yashka woke up early and began to act quite actively, quickly and collectedly. He got up, washed himself, ate, took fishing rods, dug up a full can of worms and went to wake up his new friend Volodya:
His new friend, Volodya, was sleeping in the hayloft.
Yashka put his soiled fingers in his mouth and whistled.
Then he spat and listened.
- Volodya! he called. "Get up!"(Fig. 3)
Rice. 3. Village house ()
Pay attention to a very interesting detail - soiled fingers. With the help of this detail, the image of a village boy is already beginning to emerge.
Volodya stirred in the hay, fumbled and rustled there for a long time, and finally, awkwardly tears, stepping on his untied shoelaces.
Both Yashka and Volodya, of course, do not want to get up. But Yashka overcame the craving for sleep in himself, because he promised to take the boy fishing and introduce him to village fishing.
Yashka got angry: he got up a whole hour earlier, dug up worms, fishing rodsdragged ... and to tell the truth, he got up today because of this scumbag, he wanted to show him the fish places - and instead of gratitude and admiration - “early!”.
For Yashka, the beauty of the morning was already poisoned. And his mood, some disdain, he began to express to Volodya:
- Are you wearing boots? he asked contemptuously and lookedon the protruding toe of his bare foot. - Will you wear galoshes?Volodya said nothing, blushed, and set to work on another shoe. We see that Yashka feels free in the village, knows a lot, and Volodya still has a lot to learn and learn. He really does not know how to walk barefoot and does not feel very dexterous in this situation. Here are Yashka's thoughts about Volodya: And this one... came yesterday, polite... "Please, please..." Hit him in the neck, or what? It was necessary to get in touch with this Muscovite, who, probably, has never seen a fish in his eyes, goes fishing in boots! ..- And you put on a tie, - Yashka quipped and laughed hoarsely. - Our fish is offended when you poke around without a tie.
Volodya was ready to give up fishing and immediately burst into tears, but he was so looking forward to this morning!
And again, as a character, nature enters the story. They walked through the village, and the fog receded before them, revealing more and morenew houses, and sheds, and a school, and long rows of milk-white farm buildings ... Like a miserly owner, he showed all this only for a minute and then again tightly closed behind. Pay attention to what feelings Volodya experiences on the way to fishing: Volodya suffered severely. He was not angry with himself for rude answers to Yashka,he was angry with Yashka and seemed to himself at that moment awkward and pitiful. He was ashamed of his awkwardness: “Just think, the importance is great - barefootgo! What imaginings! But at the same time, with frank envy and even admiration, he looked at Yashka's bare feet, and at the canvas bag for fish, and at the patched trousers worn especially for fishing, and the gray shirt. He envied Yashkin's tan and his gait. Yashka feels himself the master of the situation. The author characterizes the state and feelings of Yashka with the help of the following words: Yashka quipped; Yashka said gloomily; Yashka inquired smugly; Yashka screwed up his eyes venomously; trembled with rage. While the characteristic of Volodya is completely opposite: smiled conciliatoryly; Volodya's eyes sparkled; Volodya exhaled enthusiastically; Volodya became unusually cheerful, and only now did he feel how good it was to leave the house in the morning, how nice and easy it was to breathe, how much he wanted to run along this soft road, rush at full speed, jumping up and squealing with delight. A feeling of delight and happiness covers Volodya. We see how Yashka skillfully tells Volodya about the work of a tractor driver, about catching fish, about the voices of birds, how he knows how to distinguish between them: - What's that whistle? - Volodya stopped, raising his head- It? These ducks are flying... Chirochki.- Yeah... I know. And what's that?- Thrushes are ringing ... They flew to the mountain ash to Aunt Nastya in the garden. The boys approach the fishing spot (Fig. 4): The sun has finally risen; only a horse neighed in the meadows, and somehowunusually quickly brightened, turned pink all around; the gray dew on the fir trees and bushes became even more clearly visible, and the fog began to move, thinned and reluctantly began to open the haystacks, dark against the smoky background of the now nearby forest. The fish walked. Here is the first disturbing thought in the story: The water was damp, gloomy and cold.- Do you know how deep it is? Yashka rolled his eyes. - Here and the bottomno...Volodya moved a little away from the water and shuddered.
Follow how the boys behave when fishing (Fig. 5): Having thrown the nozzle, Yashka, without letting go of the rod, impatientlystared at the float. Almost immediately, Volodya also threw his bait, but at the same time caught the willow with the rod. Yashka looked terribly at Volodya, cursed in a whisper.
Rice. 5. Boys fishing ()
Volodya does not know how to fish and tries to learn this from Yashka: Yashka's hand soon got tired, and he carefully stuck the rod into the soft bank. Volodya looked at Yashka and stuck his rod in too.“I’m also a fisherman!” thought Yashka.. He wanted to prick Volodya with something. And finally, the first success - a big bream was caught: Volodya turned around and saw that his fishing rod, having rolled off a clod of earth, was slowlyslides into the water and something strongly pulls the fishing line. He jumped up, stumbled and, pulling himself up on his knees to the fishing rod, managed to grab it. The rod is heavily bent. Volodya turned his round, pale face to Yashka.- Hold on! Yashka shouted. But at that moment the ground under Volodya's feet began to stir, lost his balance, let go of the bait, absurdly, as if catching the ball, splashedhands, loudly shouted: "Aaa ..." - and fell into the water.- Fool! Yashka shouted, twisting his face angrily and in pain. -Damn stupid! .. Scared the fish.
Here, Yashka is still thinking about the fish, about the fact that fishing has been spoiled, not realizing that something terrible has happened.
But, looking at the water, he froze, and he had that agonizing feeling that you experience in a dream, when a sluggish body does not give in to consciousness: Volodya, three meters from the shore, beat, slapped the water with his hands, threw back his white face with bulging eyes to the sky , choked and, plunging into the water, tried to shout something, but his throat was bubbling, and it turned out: "Waa ... Wah ..."."Drowning!" - Yashka thought with horror.Spurred on by the terrible sounds that Volodya made, Yashkajumped out into the meadow and rushed to the village, but without running even ten steps, stopped, as if stumbling, feeling that there was no way to escape. There was no one nearby, and there was no one to cry out for help ... Yashka frantically fumbled in his pockets and in his bag in search of at least some twine and, not finding anything, pale, began to creep up to the barrel. Approaching the cliff, he looked down, expecting to see a terrible thing and at the same time hoping that everything had worked out somehow, and again saw Volodya. Volodya no longer fought, he was almost completely hidden under water, only the top of his head with sticking hair was still visible. She hid and showed up again, hid and showed up ... Yashka, without taking his eyes off this crown, began to unbutton his pants, then screamed and rolled down. Having freed himself from his trousers, he, as he was, in a shirt, with a bag over his shoulder, jumped into the water, swam up to Volodya in two strokes, grabbed his hand.Feeling a stranglehold on his neck, he tried to push him out of the water.his face, but Volodya, trembling, kept climbing on him, leaning on him with all his weight, trying to climb onto his shoulders. Yashka choked, coughed, choking, swallowing water, and then horror seized him, red and yellow circles flashed in his eyes with blinding force. He realized that Volodya would drown him, that his death had come, twitched with all his might, floundered, screamed just as inhumanly terrifying as Volodya had screamed a minute ago, kicked him in the stomach, emerged, saw through the water running from his hair a bright flattened ball of the sun , still feeling the weight of Volodya, tore it off, threw it off him, thrashed the water with his hands and feet and, raising surf breakers, rushed to the shore in horror. The first thought that comes to Yashka is to run to the village and ask for help. He doesn't even think that he can help. But at some point, Yashka realizes that while he is running, Volodya will already drown, and decides to save him himself. See how a person chooses between his own death and the death of another person. The boy became frightened, and he kicked Volodya in the stomach, swimming out himself. And at this moment he is seized not only by the horror of his own death, but also by the understanding that a person is drowning nearby. Once again, the author masterfully introduces the landscape, which becomes the protagonist. The sun shone brightly, and the leaves of the bushes and willows shone, the cobwebs between the flowers burned rainbow-colored, and the wagtail sat upstairs, on a log, swaying its tail and looking at Yashka with a shining eye, and everything was the same as always, everything breathed peace and silence, and a quiet morning stood above the earth, and meanwhile, just now, quite recently, it happenedUnprecedented - a man just drowned, and it was he, Yashka, who hit, drowned him.
Pay attention to the title of the story - "Quiet Morning". As if the title of the story conflicts with what happens to the characters. Not so quiet this morning. The title of the story is misleading.
Yashka dived. Volodya kept on his side, one of his legs was entangled in the grass, and he himself slowly turned, swaying, substituting sunlight round, pale face, and moving his left hand, as if tasting the water to the touch.Feeling that he was about to suffocate, Yashka rushed to Volodya, grabbed his hand, closed his eyes, hastily pulled Volodya's body up.Without letting go of Volodya's shirt, he began to push him towards the shore. swimit was hard. Feeling the bottom under his feet, Yashka got out himself and pulled Volodya out. He trembled, touching the cold body, looking at the dead, motionless face, he was in a hurry and felt so tired, so unhappy ... We see that at this moment Yashka again feels fear: To run away somewhere, to hide, so as not to see this indifferent, cold face!Yashka sobbed in horror, jumped up, grabbed Volodya by the legs, pulled him out,as far as strength was enough, up and, turning purple from the effort, began to shake. Volodya's head beat on the ground, his hair was matted with dirt. And at the very moment when Yashka, completely exhausted and lost in spirit, wanted to drop everything and run wherever his eyes looked, at that very moment water gushed out of Volodya's mouth, he groaned and a spasm passed through his body. Follow how the boys experience what happened, how the best character traits of the heroes manifest themselves in this situation: He loved no one now more than Volodya, nothing in the world was for himsweeter than this pale, frightened and suffering face. A timid, loving smile shone in Yashka's eyes, he looked tenderly at Volodya and asked senselessly:-Well, how? BUT? Well, how?..Yashka suddenly frowned, screwed up his eyes, tears spilled from his eyes, and he roared, roared bitterly, inconsolably, shaking all over, panting, and ashamed of his tears. He wept for joy, from the fear he had experienced, from the fact that everything ended well.
According to the researchers of Kazakov's work, the writer does not hide anything unfavorable about his characters from the reader. The reader must decide for himself whether they are good or bad. And now we see that in this situation Yashka is scared, and he struggles with his weakness, and at the same time, he, like a child, having survived such a tragic incident, cries, roars, shakes his whole body.
The story ends landscape sketch. The sun was shining, the bushes were blazing, splashed with dew, and only the water in the pool remained the same black.(Fig. 6) .
Rice. 6. The sun over the lake ()
The smell of life, the light that life gives, helped Yashka overcome moments of cowardice, overcome his own fear. The air warmed up, and the horizon trembled in its warm jets. From a distance, from the fields on the other side of the river, along with gusts of wind, the smells of hay and sweet clover flew. And these smells, mingling with the more distant, but sharp smells of the forest, and this light warm wind were like the breath of the awakened earth, rejoicing in a new bright day(Fig. 7) .
Rice. 7. The boys go home ()
A quiet morning, it would seem, did not portend anything terrible, but we see how much stress it required from Yashka, how much mental and physical strength it took to save a friend. It is not easy, being in such a situation, to show courage, perseverance and remain human. It is very important in life to endure such a test. I remember folk wisdom: a friend in need is a friend indeed.

The main artistic device used by the writer to describe the characters is the characterization of actions.
Arguing over the problems of conscience, honor and duty, love for one's neighbor, the author characterizes the main characters of the story: Yashka and Volodya, describes their relationship.
Solving the problem of the relationship between the boys among themselves, the writer prepared for his heroes a difficult test. Volodya almost drowned, and if not for the courageous act of Yashka, something irreparable could have happened. The description of the events that happened to the boys unfolds against the backdrop of nature. The story "Quiet morning" Yu.P. Kazakov begins with a description of the early morning and fog that almost completely covered the village. Volodya, a city dweller, and Yashka, a simple village boy, are going fishing together. Going to go fishing early in the morning, Yashka feels like an adult, a real expert in fishing. Volodya, who is not accustomed to getting up so early in the city, still cannot fully share all the delights of Yashka. Describing Yashka, the author characterizes his attitude to everything that happens around him. He treats his city friend somewhat condescendingly, since he does not know the elementary things known to every village boy. Volodya is a city dweller who has never fished, never seen real fogs, never woke up so early; Yashka has been living in the village since childhood, walks barefoot, catches fish, knows how to communicate with nature. Yashka grew up in nature, so he subtly feels and knows how to understand it. Landscape is one of the artistic techniques that helps to describe the characters. Yashka said that a loud crack in the field means the sound of a tractor, that they have all kinds of fish in the river; determined the voices of birds; explained how to catch a thrush. All changes in Yashka's mood are now related to fishing. He wants to show himself as a real expert in fishing. Volodya, on the contrary, does not know much about the life of nature. His way of life in the city is far from comprehension natural phenomena, so he is clumsy, loses his balance and falls into the water.
To understand the character of Yashka, the act that he committed, realizing that Volodya was drowning, is very important. At first, Yashka experienced fear, but then, overcoming his fear, he jumped into the water. Then Yashka is terrified that Volodya will drown him; then again the desire to save Volodya. The author very subtly conveys all the feelings that Yashka experiences after saving Volodya: “Yashka crawled to the side and looked at Volodya in a relaxed way. He loved no one now more than Volodya, nothing in the world was dearer to him than this pale, frightened and suffering face. A timid, loving smile shone in Yashka's eyes, he looked tenderly at Volodya ... ".
The main artistic device used by the writer to describe the characters is the characterization of actions.
Yashka is one of the main characters in Yuri Kazakov's story "Quiet Morning", a village boy, Volodya's friend from Moscow. This is a typical resident of the countryside. Among the guys, he was considered the best in terms of fishing. He does not like Volodya's urban manners, but he is not averse to teaching him how to fish. Yashka always wears old trousers and a shirt, with bare feet and dirty fingers. Therefore, Volodya's desire to put on shoes in the morning makes him laugh. Trying to introduce Volodya to rural life and teach him how to fish, one day he invites him to go with him to a local reservoir. The water in the pool is very dark and there are various legends about it. The villagers say it can take a long time.
It so happened that while Yashka was fishing, Volodya lost his balance and fell into the pool. At first, this angered Yashka, since he considered this urban, pampered boy good for nothing. But when he saw that Volodya was drowning, he wanted to run to the village for help. After thinking for a minute, Yashka changed his mind and jumped into the water to save his friend. It didn't work the first time. He almost drowned him. From the second time he was able to pull Volodya ashore and bring him to his senses. The boys were frightened and crying. Despite the fact that Yasha often grumbled at Volodya for his urban manners, in difficult situation he acted like a real friend.

Conclusion on the topic of the lesson
Nature is the source of characters, and man himself is a part of nature, comprehending himself through it. In the works of Y. Kazakov, nature is an echo of the human soul. The author vividly and figuratively paints a picture of the morning, notices what sometimes we do not pay attention to..

Yashka woke up very early, before daybreak, and his mood was kind, joyful, cheerful because he managed to overcome himself, overcoming a sweet pre-dawn dream, because he was going fishing and meeting with a new friend - Muscovite Volodya, to whom Yashka promised to show fish places, because the morning seemed lovely to him. The words "merrily trotted to the barn" convey Yashka's high spirits.
The village in the wee hour is unusual. She, like a large duvet, was covered with fog. "In the fog, the fish takes - have time to carry!" - Yashka will say to Volodya later. Nature makes Yashka happy.
Instead of gratitude and admiration, he heard from Volodya, who had been awakened by him: “Isn’t it too early?” Yashka was considered the best fisherman on the collective farm, all the boys would consider it a special honor to go fishing with him. He got up a whole hour earlier, dug up worms, dragged fishing rods - and did not receive the expected recognition. - “Yashka got angry”, “answered angrily”, “looked Volodya from head to toe with disdain”, “asked contemptuously”, “wide mocking- the evil face of Yashka”, “taunted”.
Volodya, who had just awakened, did not react to Yashka's first angry answer and his dismissive look. He "looked out into the street, his face perked up, his eyes sparkled, he began to hastily lace up his shoes."
He saw the beauty of the morning. He wanted to go fishing as soon as possible. To Yashka’s contemptuous question: “Are you going to wear boots?” - Volodya did not answer, he did not want to quarrel with Yashka, who agreed to take him with him; he blushed - he felt ashamed and embarrassed because he could not walk barefoot.
- “Volodya suffered severely. He was angry with himself for his rude answers, he was angry with Yashka, and at that moment he seemed awkward and pitiful to himself. He was ashamed of his awkwardness ... he thought, hardened: "They still recognize me ...". Volodya was tormented by the feeling of his worthlessness. And a desire arose in him to assert himself and show the village boys what he was capable of. - Yashka's appearance of an experienced fisherman, Yashka's tan and his special gait.
- Yashka believed that there was nowhere better water than in that well, and forced Volodya to drink well water.
Volodya did not want to drink, "but in order not to irritate Yashka even more, he obediently crouched down on the tub." To the self-satisfied question of Yashka: “Well, how is the water?” - Volodya replied: "Legal." Yashka was waiting for this praise and was pleased in the depths of his soul, but he still venomously asked his legs: “I suppose there is no such thing in Moscow?” Volodya did not argue, he smiled reconcilingly. - When Volodya enthusiastically reacted to Yashkin's message that the head of the club saw a catfish. Yashka wanted to become kind, noble, to please this awkward Muscovite, and he invited Volodya to catfish.
Volodya became unusually cheerful, he wanted to rush along the soft road at full speed, bouncing and squealing with delight! It seemed to him that this feeling of delight and happiness was familiar to him, had once been with him.
Hearing a loud crack in the field, Volodya thought it was a motorcycle and looked inquiringly at Yashka. Yashka importantly announced that this was Fedya Kostylev's tractor, which plowed all night with headlights, slept a bit and went again. Yashka willingly told Volodya that they had all kinds of fish: crucian carp on the stretches, pike, perch, roach, bream, tench, "thick as a pig." Yashka knew the voices of birds well and determined that “ducks are flying ... chirochki”, “thrushes are ringing” - “they flew to the mountain ash to Aunt Nastya in the garden”, told how you can catch a thrush. - The boy knows village life well, knows nature, fish , birds. He is attentive and observant.
Good relations arose between the boys, and the beauty of the quiet morning pleases them. They hear a horse neighing thinly in the meadows; they notice gray dew on the trees and bushes, the movement of fog, reluctantly opening haystacks.
The sun rose, and everything around somehow unusually quickly brightened, turned pink, it became light and calm in the souls of the boys too: anger, irritation, resentment passed like fog in the meadows. Nature here is consonant with the mood of the characters, harmonizes with their feelings.
Gloom reigned in the pool, it smelled of dampness, clay, mud, the water was black, “willows in violent growth almost covered the entire sky”, “the water was damp, gloomy and cold.” Omu is dangerous. His description creates an unsettling mood.
Yashka, rounding his eyes, informs Volodya that there is no bottom in this pool and no one bathes in it - it “sucks in”, but the worst thing is “there are octopuses at the bottom”.
Yashka is an avid fisherman. He was impatient to catch a fish as soon as possible, and he was afraid that the fish would go to another pool.
When Yashka missed the fish, he "trembled with rage." When Volodya asked if the fish could go to another bochag, he answered angrily. Yashka is ashamed in front of Volodya that he missed the fish, and at the same time he feels irritation towards Volodya, attributing his guilt to him: “I am also a fisherman! he thinks. “He sits arrogantly ... You catch alone or with a real fisherman - just have time to carry it”
Volodya began to peck at the fish, but he could not hold the bait and, having lost his balance, fell into the pool. At this moment, Yashka does not think that the pool can suck Volodya, does not think about the mortal danger that threatens his comrade. Yashka is furious that Volodya scared the fish away. “He jumped up, grabbed a clod of earth, preparing to throw Volodya in the face as soon as he emerged.”
At first, he had that agonizing feeling that a person experiences in a dream, when a sluggish body does not obey consciousness. Yashka felt cold with horror, Mishka's story about huge octopuses immediately came to his mind.
no one was around, and there was no one to call for help. Yashka realized that Volodya's life depended only on him.
Yashka, pale, began to creep up to the bochag. Looking from the cliff into the pool, he expected to see something terrible and at the same time hoped that everything worked out. Yashka managed to overcome his fear and jumped into the water.
Nature is in contrast to the internal state of Yashka. Yashka saw the same quiet morning, beautiful, full of freshness and sparkling beauty. - The sun shone brightly, the leaves of the bushes and willows shone, the cobwebs between the flowers shone iridescently; the wagtail looked at Yashka with a shining eye.
It is impossible to live with such a load of irreparable guilt. The desire to correct his mistake, the hope of saving Volodya stronger than fear in all my life.
- “I didn’t love anyone now ... I looked at Volodya ...”
Yashka experienced a feeling of fear for Volodya's life, he was horrified at the thought that Volodya could drown, felt sorry for him. From a feeling of pity and compassion, love for a person, love for one's neighbor, is born.
- page 195 (end)
Now there is harmony in the relationship between nature and man. And we understand that now, indeed, a quiet morning. It was calm all around, and Yashka felt calm in his soul, because, having overcome his fear, he saved the life of his comrade. Volodya now seemed to him the dearest person, whom he looked at with "love and tenderness."
Yashka matured thanks to this incident, he showed his best qualities of character, coming to the aid of a friend, not thinking about himself
“A friend in need is a friend indeed",
“Die yourself, but help a comrade, ”
“One cannot do it - call a friend”
