In the history of Christianity there are the names of many people who became famous for their kindness, honesty, firmness in faith and courage in suffering.

The topic of our lesson:The Tale of Peter and Fevronia of Murom. The fate and character of the heroes. Slide 10
We have already met with this work.
The purpose of our lesson today:- to consider the genre originality of "The Tale ..."; let's try to determine what the hero of ancient Russian literature is, what his character is; we will try to make a spiritual portrait of Peter and Fevronia, which will help us understand the morality of past centuries and evaluate the ideological content of the story.
- Epigraph work. slide 11
A connoisseur of ancient Russian literature D.S. Likhachev said:
How do you understand this statement, which is the epigraph to our lesson and what is morality?
(Moral These are the norms of behavior accepted in society. To be moral means to follow these unwritten rules: to be honest, kind, and so on. norms of behavior, spiritual, life values the same for all people at all times. Reading ancient books in detail, we can find a lot for ourselves)
We will return to our epigraph at the end of the lesson. And now let's move on to the ancient Russian state, to a distantXVI century and find out who wrote this wonderful work "The Tale of Peter and Fevronia", what is its background? Word - Petelin V. and Yurova A. slide 12
V. The history of the creation of the story. Individual messages uch-Xia.
(in costumes of medieval Russians)
Petelin: XVI century… - the time of the formation of a single Russian state.
The unification of Russia was followed by the unification of Russian culture. Under the leadership of Metropolitan Macarius ( slide 13) in the order of months and days, a collection of the lives of all the saints of the Orthodox Church is compiled - 12 huge volumes. It was called "Great Cheti-Minei" ( Slide 14) ( TRANSLATED FROM GREEK - MONTHLY READINGS). And Macarius instructs the priests to collect traditions from the Russian lands about the righteous people who became famous for their pious deeds.
The old city of Murom was famous for its legends. ( slide 15) 23 Orthodox saints were born, lived and reigned here. No city in the world can boast of such an achievement. ( slide 16) But the most poetic of the Murom legends was the tale of a wise maiden who became a kind and fair princess. It served as the basis for the story. Slide 17 Pskov Priest Yermolai (monastic Erasmus) literary processed local legends and created a story about Peter and Fevronia of Murom.
Yurov: Peter and Fevronia are real historical figures. Slide 18 Prince Peter ruled in Murom at the beginning of the 13th century. He married a peasant woman, Fevronia, in gratitude for the fact that she cured him of a disease that no one could cure.. They suffered a lot of malice from the side of the boyars, but they lived happilytill the end of one's days. When they grew old, they both became monks and died inon the same day and hour June 25 1228. Slide 19
"The Tale of Peter and Fevronia" became a favorite reading of medieval Russians. It was written after the canonization of Peter and Fevronia at the Moscow Church Cathedral in 1547. Slide 20 150 lists of the story have been preserved, in which this story is presented in many versions.
- Guys, in the speech of our Russians there were words Slide 21: metropolitan, "Great Honors - Menaion", pious, righteous, monasticism, canonization.
Let's remember what they mean?
Metropolitan - clergyman in the Russian Orthodox Church higher level subordinate to the head of the church (patriarch).
"Great Cheti-Minei"- a collection of the lives of all the saints of the Orthodox Church.

Why didn’t Metropolitan Macarius include the life he ordered in the collection “Great Menaions”? slide 24 (Pr-e does not represent a canonical (traditional) life. There is no story about pious parents, about how faith in God woke up, about suffering in the name of God.)
You are right guys. Workis not canonical. The test of heroes affirms earthly love, family values, and not a monastic feat in the name of God. Literary critics define the genre of a work as follows: it ishagiographic story with elements of a folk-tale character. Slide 23-5

What, or rather, who, did you pay attention to in this episode?
(In the same episode, we drew attention to the hare. The hare is a cowardly animal, but here he is not at all afraid of humans. This means that Fevronia is able to tame animals.)
What does it say? (What the hell is that talking about?)(About kindheartedness (about her good heart, her kindness)
Fevronia's needlework is also significant in this episode. Why did the author depict her sitting at the loom? (Fevronia did not weave by chance. The homely, hardworking women and girls of Ancient Russia could most often be seen behind a spinning wheel or a loom. It says about diligence , that she is a good hostess)
2. Fragment reordering

Why did Peter fall in love with Fevronia?(He was convinced of the mind, the spiritual beauty of the girl.
She did not accept his gifts, which means that she is not selfish and not greedy. “Not in the least angry” heals him again, which means she is merciful).
That's right guys. What does the word mean mercy?
(Mercy - this is the ability to sympathize, to sympathize, to perceive someone else's misfortune as one's own, the ability to forgive.) Let's write down.

4. Working with symbol objects(Slide 25)
Thus ended the life of Peter and Fevronia. We already know a lot about our heroes. Let's try to represent their life path in the form of symbol objects. We have three items: ladder, path and circle.
What is a ladder? (This is a device invented by people in order to climb up step by step.)
What kind of life do you think can be compared to climbing stairs?(A person who overcomes difficulties, obstacles, but still gets to the top)
Just as you and I climb the stairs to get something, do something, or just be in the right place, in the same way a person walks the symbolic stairs, overcoming obstacles, obstacles, in order to reach the top - perfection.
What is a trail? (Trail (path) - a narrow trodden path).
What will be the life path of a person if it is presented in the form of a path?
The path symbolizes a relatively calm, even life of a person, in which there are minor obstacles that make a person turn one way or the other.
And here is the circle is a very important symbol. The circle has no beginning or end. It means eternity, immutability, constancy, fidelity to one's ideas, purity of thoughts.
With the help of which of these objects can you and I imagine Peter's life path? Justify your answer.(His life path can be represented as a ladder. Stage 1 - the fight against external evil in the guise of a serpent - the tempter; Stage 2 - Peter's illness and trials; Stage 3 - the fight against internal evil - over pride; Stage 4 - meekness and fidelity to the commandments of God, holiness. ) slide 26
If we compare the life path of Fevronia with the same subjects, then which subject will you choose?
(Circle. The author repeatedly emphasizes the predestination of her fate, her life path. Throughout the story, the image of the saint remains unchanged: Fevronia has moral purity, purity of thoughts, her faith in God is unshakable.) Slide 27
XI. Spiritual portrait of Peter and Fevronia. Conclusions.

Is it possible to classify Peter and Fevronia as saints on the basis of a hagiographic portrait? Prove it.(Peter and Fevronia are an example of moral and spiritual values.) Slide 28-2
How did Peter and Fevronia deserve the title of saints?(With their love and fidelity. They loved each other so much that they asked God to die on the same day. And even after death they ended up together in the same coffin.) Slide 29
Peter and Fevronia were a model family life, love and fidelity. Even death did not separate them. Therefore, they became saints - the patrons of marriage. slide 30
July 8 Orthodox Church honors Saints Peter and Fevronia and this day is considered the day of lovers in Orthodoxy. Slide 31 In 2008, this day was declared the day of family, love and fidelity, and chamomile became a symbol of this holiday. slide 32 Many people make a pilgrimage to Murom to thank these saints for their patronage in their family life or ask for their prayer before the Lord for the gift of family harmony and happiness.
VIII. Summary of the lesson.
Let's return to our epigraph. Slide 33
Morality is the same in all ages and for all people.
Reading about obsolete in detail, we can find a lot for ourselves.
What is the main value of the book?
(This story is a kind of hymn to faith, love and fidelity.)

slide 34
The triumph of faith, wisdom, goodness and love - this is the main idea of the story. With their lives, Peter and Fevronia showed what a person should be, what his life should be. Look again how many wonderful moral qualities that are passed down from century to century, from generation to generation, should be in a person. Let us also try to live in such a way that we become at least a little like these holy people. And the books that you see at our exhibition will be able to help with this. And at the end of our lesson, listen to the wonderful song of Mark Tishman, which became the hymn to Peter and Fevronia.
The song "Peter and Fevronia" sounds
Grading.
Guys, our lesson is over. I really liked the way you worked today...
The story of Peter and Fevronia of Murom, perhaps, can be called a story about true and bright love, which everyone tries to find in their lives.
The main character, Fevronia herself, appears to readers as a wise, honest, fair and beautiful young girl who is respected by those around her for her sensitive and complaisant character. In the course of the story, she shows herself as a faithful, caring and intelligent wife who does everything possible for the happiness of her family and her husband. Despite this, readers may also notice that there is resilience and endurance in her character, this is manifested in her struggle for the happiness of her family. Also, the main character can be called an active creator of both her life and the life of her prince Peter, whom she falls in love with and marries him.
Prince Peter himself is a less significant figure compared to Fevronia, however, according to the author's idea, he is also the main character of this story. This hero appears before readers as a brave, courageous and caring. Without hesitation, he enters the fray for the honor of Fevronia, and fights with a flying kite. Receiving a wound from the enemy, he trusts Fevronia and allows him to treat him, promising to marry her. However, when the prince decides not to fulfill his promise, the wounds again begin to affect his body, and he, realizing his mistake, still marry Fevronia. It is worth noting that at this time he truly sincerely falls in love with her.
Having found true love, both of these heroes were not only able to carry it through their whole lives, no matter what, but they also died on the same day. This only proves that real love still exists. After all, even after death, no one could separate them, and sent them to another world together.
Since ancient times, these heroes have been recognized as the defenders of all loving people, as well as guardians of families and marital ties.

In the novel Quiet Flows the Don, written by Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov between 1925 and 1940, there is a hero named Dmitry Korshunov.
At the beginning of the 16th century, back in the time of Tsar Ivan the Terrible, Metropolitan Macarius of Moscow and All Russia instructed his monastic assistant scribes to search all Russian cities and villages for stories about righteous people who became famous for their pious life. One of such ancient beautiful and romantic stories was "The Tale of Peter and Fevronia of Murom". An analysis of the actions of the main characters suggests that they were the righteous, who became the spiritual symbol of the Christian family. And therefore, with the consent of the Church Council in 1547, they were canonized. Priest Yermolai was entrusted with writing a detailed essay about the life and love of Peter and Fevronia.
Peter and Fevronia. Summary of the plot
Prince Pavel ruled in the city of Murom. And suddenly a Serpent in the guise of Paul began to fly to his wife for fornication. She immediately told her husband about it. He immediately asked her that at the next meeting with the Serpent, she would flatteringly find out from him what he was waiting for his death from. The humble woman did just that. Seduced by her beauty and gentle speeches, the Serpent gave her the secret of his death, which consisted in the fact that Peter would kill him with the help of Agrikov's sword. Concerned about this news, Paul calls his brother Peter to him and tells him everything. And he was ready to fight the enemy, although he did not know where he could get Agrikov's sword.
Agric sword
At the same time, it is impossible not to mention the fact that this sword was forged by Agrik, the son of the cruel tyrant Herod, known from biblical texts. This mighty sword had supernatural properties and emitted a bluish glow in the darkness. He easily dealt with any military armor. By the way, it was also called the treasure sword - the weapon of epic heroes. But how did he get into Ancient Russia? There is reason to believe that the Templars, participating in the excavations, most likely found the main Christian relics: the Grail, the shroud, later called Turin, and the Agric sword. They presented it to the fearless commander of Vladimir - Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky - as a special reward when he decided to return to Russia. But with the beginning of internecine wars, the prince was killed. And the sword began to pass from one hand to another. In the end, he was hidden within the walls of the monastery of the glorious city of Murom.
Continuation of the plot
So, after a while, Peter, praying in the church of the monastery, the youth points to the treasure in which Agrikov's sword was kept. He took the weapon and went to his brother. Prince Peter almost immediately realized that the Serpent in his sorcerous appearance was sitting at the wife of brother Paul. Then he dealt him a mortal blow, and he instantly died, splashing him with his blood, after which the prince became very ill and covered with scabs. Not a single doctor undertook to treat Peter. But one day there was such a village healer by nature, a wise maiden named Fevronya, who cured the prince and became his faithful wife. After the death of his brother Paul, Peter took the throne. But the treacherous boyars decided to expel the commoner, as their wives did not like her. And Fevronya was ready to leave the city, but only with her husband, who decided to go with her. The boyars were at first very happy to let them go, but after some time, after internecine strife and murders for the throne, they decided to return the married princely couple. And after that, everyone lived joyfully and happily.
Main interchange
And when the time came, Peter and Fevronya took monastic vows and received Euphrosyne at the same time. They even prayed to God to send them death on the same day, and even prepared a double coffin with a partition. And so it happened - they reposed on the same day, but the priests were afraid of the wrath of God and did not bury them together. Having arranged their dead bodies in different churches, in the morning they found them together in their special coffin. This was repeated twice. And then it was decided to bury them together, never again separating them.
Now the holy beloved Peter and Fevronia are always together. Summary this story revealed only a small part of their righteous life. These miracle workers became patrons of marriage and love. Now any believer has the opportunity to pray over the holy relics in the Holy Trinity Monastery in the city of Murom.
Wise Fevronia
The characteristic of Peter and Fevronia surprises them with their endless humility, calmness and serenity. Possessing great inner strength, the chaste and perspicacious Fevronia is very stingy in her outward manifestation. She conquered her passions and was ready for anything, even for the feat of self-denial. Her love became invincible outwardly, because inwardly it obeyed the mind. The wisdom of Fevronia lies not only in her extraordinary mind, but in her feelings and will. And there is no conflict between them. Hence such a penetrating "silence" in her image. Therefore, it is not surprising that Fevronia possessed life-giving force, so great that it even revived cut down trees, which after that became even larger and greener. Possessing a strong spirit, she was able to unravel the thoughts of travelers. In her love and wisdom, she even surpassed her ideal faithful Peter. The love of Peter and Fevronia found its response in the hearts of millions of people who will definitely pray to these holy images.
Brave Peter
Describing Prince Peter, one can see his unprecedented heroism and courage in the victory over the insidious devilish Serpent. It is immediately clear that he is a deeply religious person, otherwise he would not have been able to defeat such an insidious tempter. However, he nevertheless once deceived Fevronia when he promised that after his recovery he would marry her. He never fulfilled it until he again became covered with fetid scabs. The prince quickly learned the lesson taught by Fevronya, and after that he began to listen to her in everything. Soon they got married and began to live like true Christian families in love, fidelity and harmony. Prince Peter never indulged his wife. He was truly pious, it was not in vain that the boyars and the people loved him.
The characteristic of Peter and Fevronia is unique in its own way. These were truly people from God. And more than once you are surprised at how strong their mutual understanding and love were. After all, they perfectly complemented each other, and therefore became the image of an ideal married couple.
Genres of Old Russian literature
In addition to this famous story, there were other examples of ancient Russian literature. In general, the ancient Russian scribes, mastering the common Slavic literature, were mainly engaged in Greek translations and then turned to the creation of their original works, performed in various genres: life, chronicle, teaching, military story. It is impossible to specify exactly when the first records of various historical traditions appeared, but bright examples Old Russian literature appeared already in the middle of the 11th century. It was then that the Russian chronicles were created, which are a detailed record of some very in Russia. Special place are occupied by the stories of ancient Russian literature - this is something intermediate between a novel and a short story. But now they are mostly stories - short stories about an event. Thus, folklore and ancient Russian literature are especially valued by contemporaries.
Monuments of ancient Russian literature
One of the first known ancient chroniclers was the Monk Nestor (his holy relics rest in the caves of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra) with his chronicle "The Tale of Bygone Years", dated to the 11th century. Behind him Grand Duke Kievan Vladimir Monomakh wrote the book "Instruction" (XII century). Gradually, such works began to appear as "The Tale of the Life of Alexander Nevsky", the author of which, most likely, was the scribe of the Metropolitan of Vladimir Kirill at the turn of the late XII and early XIII centuries. Then another monument of ancient Russian literature was created, dated to the beginning of the 12th century, called "The Tale of Igor's Campaign", where the name of the author remained unknown. I would certainly like to note the great work about the Mamaevsky battle "Zadonshchina", created at the turn of late XIV and the beginning of the 15th century, presumably the author was the Ryazan priest Sophrony.
The Tale of Peter and Fevronia of Murom. Analysis
Gradually, the list of ancient Russian literature expanded. It also included The Tale of Peter and Fevronia of Murom. An analysis of this work of the 16th century calls it a hymn to marital love and fidelity. And it will be right. Here it is - an example of a real Christian family. and devotion is demonstrated by The Tale of Peter and Fevronia of Murom. Analysis artistic features The work suggests that it combines two folklore plots. One of them tells about the insidious Seducing Serpent, and the other about the wise maiden. It is distinguished by simplicity and clarity of presentation, the sedate slowness of the development of events and, most importantly, the calmness of the narrator in the gentleness of the description. actors. That is why it is easily perceived and read, which means it teaches us to love truly, humbly and selflessly, as did its main characters - Peter and Fevronya.
