Urgent service morflot. How many years are now serving in the Russian Army and Morflot: the term of military service of conscript soldiers
How many years is the term of service in the army of the Russian Federation and navy?
The question of how many years young people need to spend serving in the army has always interested them and their relatives. This article will try to deal with all the terms that exist today.
How many years do they serve in the Russian Army now: the term of military service of conscript soldiers
- A few years ago, the term of service in the army of conscripts was 2 years. Then this period of time was reduced to 18 months. Soldiers have been serving in the army since 2008 Russian Federation only one year, tobish twelve months. As the Russian government promises, this figure will remain unchanged in 2017-2018.
- The draft age is 18-27 years.
- As for contract service in the army, those who want to earn good money and experience today have the opportunity to conclude a contract for 2 or 3 years. However, these guys need to know that contract soldiers can be sent to hot spots at any time.
- The officer staff concludes a contract for 5 years.
- Restriction for contract service in the army is the age of 65 years.
How many years do they serve in the Russian Navy now: the term of military service of conscript soldiers
Service life in the Russian Navy
- The navy for recruits in Soviet times sounded like a sentence. The fact is that until 1996, the term of service in such troops was the maximum - 3 years or 36 months. Since 1996, they began to call for 24 months in the Morflot of the Russian Federation. And in 2008, the army reform reduced the term of service in the Russian Navy to 12 months.
- As for contractors, it is possible to conclude a contract for service in Morflot for 24 or 36 months. A repeated contract can already be concluded for a period of one year up to the age limit. At the same time, after retirement, a person also has the right to be a contract soldier. In this case, the contract between the Russian Marine Fleet and the seafarer is concluded for a period of one to 10 years.
In Soviet times, Morflot was frightened by recruits in the military enlistment offices, since the term of service in it reached 36 months, which was a year more than that of recruits in other branches of the military. Conscripts are still afraid of getting into the fleet, because they do not know if the duration of conscription service has been changed there. So, let's figure out how many years conscripts and contract soldiers have been serving in the Morflot.
How did the service life in the Navy change?
Due to the difficulties and the need to go to navigation in Soviet times, the term of service in the fleet was different and was three years. This frightened the conscripts, but at the same time gave the country the opportunity to train specialists capable of working on a variety of sea vessels.
Most of the conscripts, except for those who wanted to continue to engage in shipping, tried to avoid being drafted into the Morflot, since it would be necessary to spend 12 months more in the service. Although the conditions in the fleet were much better than in the barracks of other military branches. Due to the difficulties of serving, the soldiers there were offered enhanced nutrition and a sparing day regimen.
In 1996, the question of how many people serve in the Navy ceased to be relevant. Despite the fact that the sailors still had their own ranks and features of keeping a watch, in terms of terms of service on the ships of the Navy they were equated to the usual. Now conscripts were sent to these troops for 24 months. This provision has been regulated by law. Since then, service life changes have begun to apply to the entire army, including the Navy.
How many conscripts are now serving and how to get into the fleet
Now the army is undergoing a global reform, which began in 2007. According to it, the army becomes a contract army, and conscripts take the course of a young fighter in one year. This change also affected the fleet. Since 2008, recruits have been sent to serve in the Navy for just 12 months.
There are several requirements for an applicant for service in the Navy:
- have a second group of neuropsychic stability;
- have a category of validity A3 and above;
- height should not exceed 180 centimeters.
In some cases, the Navy, on the contrary, selects recruits of high stature. They serve in the coast guard and guard of honor at headquarters. However, only Slavs are taken to such positions.
Conscripts are most likely to get into Baltic Fleet, since its population is higher than that of the Black Sea. Very few recruits will be called up to the Navy soon, as it is planned that the units of these troops will completely switch to a contract basis. Whether this will turn out to be true, we will find out in a few years, when the reform in the army is over.
How long can a contract service last?
The following people get on a contract basis in the Navy:
- with an average vocational education related to shipping;
- with a related specialty, which has an analogue in military registration professions;
- with a high degree of neuropsychic stability;
- with a health group above A-3.
Welders, radio technicians and engineers are highly valued in the Navy. Therefore, if you have a diploma of obtaining suitable profession, the chance to sign a contract for service in the Navy will be higher. In addition, be prepared to move to the location of the part.
Service in the Navy - what is it like? I am sure that many of you, just like I once asked similar questions. Before meeting Dmitry Pimkin, I thought that service in the Navy was world travel and romance in all its glory (except for jokes, of course).
But Dima was able to bring me back from my fantasies to real life. As it turns out, the service Navy far from the easiest.
A sailor serving in the Navy right now will tell about all the subtleties, pros and cons of service "on the water" -.
-
Hello Dima! Tell about yourself. Who is Dmitry Pimkin?
-
Hello!
Dmitry Pimkin - soldier Armed Forces Russian Federation. Although, to be more precise, a sailor.
Dmitry Pimkin
I got to serve in the navy. To a surface ship. People like me are called shipbuilders. We weren't taught anything. We did not get into training units or corps, as you did. We learn everything on the spot.
I won't say it's bad. This has its pros and cons.
- And what are they?
-
Now I'll tell you.
Pros:
- You memorize and learn only what you need.
- You master only your combat post and own complete information by his command.
- Simply put, you are your own boss.
- Friendly team. We are foremen on "you". Together. You can apply to any officer, and he will not refuse you.
I see two cons:
- Once on the ship, you do not know anything, but they already demand from you. Although this minus is not very big, it spoils all raspberries.
- Around everything is iron, everywhere there are small closed spaces.
-I understood you. And you yourself wanted to get into the Navy?
-
No. I wanted to marines. Well, run, shoot. Romance! But unfortunately, there was no set. I was sent to.
-Got upset? And what feelings do you have, in general, from the very beginning of the service?
-
No. Not very upset. The main thing is that the food is good. :)
The senses? It's hard to say... Sometimes homesickness hits.
“Housesickness unites us all. Tell me about your service.
-
In general, everything is the same as yours. Rise at 6 am. Then breakfast. After breakfast - a small tidy. After that - anti-accident inspection. Then divorce for work. Then lunch, but before it again cleaning.
After dinner - admiral's hour, we sleep on it until 3 o'clock. Then construction and divorce for work. And work, work, work...
At 17.30 again tidy, then dinner. In 7 building and free time. Or time for self-care. Then at 9 formation, reading the charter and the order for the intercession of a new watch. Well, that's all. Hang up at 10. And on a new one. Vicious circle.
-Yes, very similar to the typical daily routine in land. Where have you already been? Where did they go on the ship?
-
Nowhere. I'm out of luck. I'm only on standing ships so far. The first ship was under repair, the second one will not go anywhere. I think I’ll transfer to a corvette on a business trip and walk around the Baltic. Time will tell.
-Are you easy with these translations? Is it possible to transfer just like that?
-
Yes. Approach the ship's deputy commander for work with personnel and talk to him. Well, like everywhere else... Until you start spinning and spinning yourself, no one will take care of you.
-You can't argue with that! Good. If you say that you have “everything like everyone else”, then tell us what subjects you are taught.
-
We don't have classes at all. We study everything as we work. There is no such thing that we sit and someone explains something to us. A question arose - he approached the commander or senior and asked. That's all. Sometimes they give a lot of documentation so that you can look for the necessary information on it.
-Ah, so you have a pair, it turns out, not at all? What about specialties? Are there VUS?
-
You are understand clear. There are no couples. At the end of the service I will not have any diploma. There will be only knowledge that I myself have received. And skills. And VUSov, respectively, we also do not.
-Clear. It turns out that you do not have distribution either. You serve on ships all year, right?
Yes. All year on the ships. What distribution are you talking about?
-We have . We're driving around military units the whole country. Do you have something similar? With ships, of course.
-
Well... If you got into the “training school” and study by profession, then yes, there is a distribution. But I'm a shipbuilder, and we don't have training as such. I got on the ship right away.
-What is a shipbuilder?
-
These are military personnel who, after taking the oath, immediately get on the ship and learn everything on the spot.
What were you doing before taking the oath?
-
They learned the charter. Construction lessons. Russian history. Great victories.
Have you been on ships at all?
-
Were. We were called, dressed. After that, they were brought to the Restless ship, which is a distributor. There we were before the oath. After the oath, we were already scattered on ships.
- Tin.)
-
Why? I think it's okay.)
- Okay, Dim. Last request. Give 5 tips to those who are taken to the Navy on ships in this and the following calls.
-
OK then. I'll try.
- Don't be afraid of the ship. Yes. Around everything is iron, there is not enough space. With water and ordinary everyday things, it's not good. But, as the charter says, “the military must cope with the hardships military service". This is where you can do it. If you are not comfortable, then immediately tell the commander about it. You will be transferred. Nobody will force you. There have been such cases in my practice ...
- Be friends with everyone you can. Especially with coca. You will always be full and satisfied.
- Try not to give up your hobbies. There is a lot of free time on the ships, so you can continue doing what you love.
- Stay human. Always help if asked, even if you get nothing for it. The elders will see this and will help you in every possible way in return. The service will become easier.
- Be the best person who you know. This is my motto for life. And I think there is no need to explain anything here. :)
-Cool! And now the last question: who are the "koki"?
-
This is the cook. AT ground forces the company "Slavyanka" feeds, and in the navy the sailors cook for themselves. And those who cook are called "koks".
-Dim, thank you very much for this interview! I assure you that even for me it was extremely useful. I wish you a happy and easy service!
-
Mutually! I wish the same for all those who are yet to serve. And if any of the readers have questions about the Fleet, then let them ask them in the comments to the article. I am a frequent visitor to your blog. I will answer every one with pleasure!
-Deal. So let's do it! See you!
-
Happily!
P.S. Dima is one of the first people I met thanks to the blog. He himself initiated our acquaintance, adding
I'm drafting into the army in the spring. I want to join the fleet. Will they take me?
K. Smirnov, Khabarovsk

Sailor interview
About all the subtleties, pluses and minuses of the service "on the water" will tell the sailor serving in the Navy right now - Dmitry Pimkin.Hello Dima! Tell about yourself.
Who is Dmitry Pimkin? - Hi! Dmitry Pimkin is a soldier of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Although, to be more precise, a sailor.
Dmitry Pimkin
In addition to the above criteria, when selecting citizens for the navy, preference is given to the following candidates:
Which army is better to go to serve and why?
In Russia, special ratings of troops are used.Even before the decision at the state level on the transfer of military conscripts for a year of service, I had a conversation with the commander of the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet GRKR "Moskva" Guards Captain 1st Rank Igor Smolyak on this topic. Then he called the impending problem one of the most serious, truly worrying all ship commanders. It turns out that as soon as you train a sailor, it's time for him to quit. In this regard, the question arose about the maximum acceleration of the formation of young sailors in order to increase their efficiency on ships.
Young sailors from the division of surface ships
“This is a serious test for all commanders,” the owner of the navigation bridge of the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet foresaw the situation.
The leadership of the fleet also understood this. And it did not sit idly by, but looked for all possible ways for the speedy development of young sailors. A number of measures have been taken. For example, the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Vice-Admiral Alexander Kletskov, spoke about one of them, answering a question from journalists during the farewell to the Moscow GRKR to the Mediterranean Sea, to Messina:
“Previously, military sailors served for three years. Now we have switched to a one-year service. Is it possible to become a real sailor in this short period of time? You can always become a sailor, especially if you dream about it from childhood, - the commander summed up, - it is difficult to acquire strong skills in maintaining complex military equipment and weapons in a short time. The fleet has acquired certain experience in training sailors during the transition from a two-year to a year and a half service life, and has gained certain methodological experience. Now, in connection with the transition to a one-year term of service, we have moved away from training sailors of certain specialties in training detachments, and have reduced the time spent by young soldiers in a naval crew ...
Now yesterday's conscripts get on warships as quickly as possible, where they are trained on operating equipment and weapons, in real conditions of their operation.
We know that time is extensible
Indeed, the deputy commander of the naval crew for educational work Captain 2nd Rank Pavel Kharaev confirmed that the current call for a one-year service and the formation of conscripts have become much more dynamic than before. And how can one not remember the words of the poet:
We know that time is extensible,
It depends on
What kind of content
You fill it.
Previously, we trained sailors for coastal units for 30 days, - says the officer, - and 45 days for service on surface ships. This is the so-called young fighter course, the second type of training. Now the combined arms training program is only two weeks long. We did not detain people in the naval crew. The "conveyor" worked clearly and non-stop, taking into account literally every day. Suffice it to say that in this set, five groups of recruits took the military oath, which was not the case before.
Of course it's troublesome. But now young people do not accumulate in the carriage, waiting for the arrival of the next batch of conscripts, but are prepared "in portions", as they arrive. The batch arrived, the timer immediately “turns on”. As they say, the time has come. They took the oath - and immediately to the ships. Dear every day. Today, the price of study time has increased immeasurably. This is understood in the naval crew.
I was a witness when two dozen sailors set off from the mine wall to the ships of the division. While waiting for the boat, they received permission for a short smoke break. Someone dragged on a cigarette, someone approached the military trade stall. The break did not last long. The officer who accompanied the young sailors took advantage of the pause and began to tell them about the history and traditions of the main naval unit of the Black Sea Fleet. They listened carefully.
Time is fleeting. There is no time for slacking off. Dear not only every day of service, but also every hour. And who, if not officers, understand this better than others. That is why they are trying to saturate the service time of sailors to the maximum. From the very first day of their stay in the compound. I will add to this that the time of training in the training detachment has also changed. If earlier in the school of divers, for example, there were two terms of study: 5 and 7 months (the second for deep-sea divers), now there are only five. And here it is important to note that the draft year is a kind of “shooting point” for contract service. During this time, the sailor receives a certain foundation of knowledge and experience, which in the future can be built up already as a professional. A year is enough to decide on the next life choice. By the way, now in connection with the global financial crisis, which has thoroughly affected Russia, with an increase in the number of unemployed, quite a few express a desire to serve under a contract.
Unused reserves
Shortened service periods put forward increased requirements for sailors. It is very good when a conscript comes to the fleet already having a specialty obtained in ROSTO. And not on paper, not formally, but in reality.
Has the quality of training at ROSTO improved due to the transition to a one-year service? - I'm interested in the officer of the combat training department of the Black Sea Fleet, Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Shatov, who oversees this issue.
Unfortunately, no, - Sergei Alexandrovich states, - we do not observe such an improvement. Everything remains the same and sometimes low level ...
However, this is a topic for a separate discussion, and this issue is not within the competence of the fleet. It seems that there is a considerable reserve for increasing professional level young warriors.
Thanks to the chefs
But the informal and strong patronage ties established by ships, formations and units with various cities and regions of Russia are a really important component of the speedy development of young soldiers. After all, this is the initial selection of people, the notorious "human material", which ultimately determines the success of any business, the mood and cohesion of the team, its professionalism.
When the captain of the 2nd rank Khanaev began to name the regions of Russia that replenish the Black Sea Fleet, I recalled the ships and military units that had bosses. And these are the vast majority. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tatarstan, Krasnodar Territory, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Bashkiria, Mordovia, Samara, Belgorod, Tambov, Astrakhan, Tyumen... This is not only moral and material support for military teams. This is a serious selection of people. Communication with the military commissariats of these regions has a very positive effect on the formation of the crews of ships and vessels, saturates them with disciplined, competent specialists, often with higher, incomplete higher or secondary technical education.
Moreover, such a relationship is mutually beneficial, since the regions, after the end of the service of seamen on conscription, receive good, morally and physically professionally trained personnel who have strengthened morally and physically.
Each specialty is a separate class
Of course, the professional development of young sailors in to a large extent depends on the level of occupation and training in the specialty.
Well, what has been done in this regard in the naval training center, which closes on the combat training department and where do the crews of combat surface ships and auxiliary ships of the fleet study?
It turns out that in the "forge" of martial arts, they also did not sit idly by. According to the acting head of the training center of the Black Sea Fleet, captain 3rd rank Ivan Bykov, several classrooms have been additionally equipped here. Now they are available for all major military registration specialties (VUS). Let's say that earlier in one office they trained BC-3 specialists, that is, miners and torpedoists. Their weapons are obviously different. Now they have equipped two cabinets: mine and torpedo weapons. And this is the merit of senior midshipman Dmitry Inkalev, who has been serving in the training center for six years now.
The same differentiation affected other vus. It is clear how diverse the rocket and artillery weapons of ships are. Completely different complexes and artillery installations are used. Now, three separate classes have been equipped for missilemen. This became possible due to the fact that the training center received at its disposal three rocket launchers that were withdrawn from combat strength after the decommissioning of ships that have served their time. Now the training center is thinking about how to improve the artillery training class.
Now the training center has five classes for training specialists of the radio engineering service, six classes for training specialists of the electromechanical service. There are separate offices for signalmen and signalmen. This is the merit of senior midshipman Alexander Dolgikh, who devoted many years to service in the formation of surface ships of the Black Sea Fleet.
Such differentiation, of course, is to the benefit of the trainees, because it allows the maximum specification of the training of specialists. It is also important because it provides visibility and safety of training. And also - economy. After all, it is one thing to exploit military equipment for training purposes, which, of course, has its own limited resource, and another thing is educational equipment. In addition, the heads of offices, as a rule, have a lot of practical experience gained on ships, and methodical skill, acquired at the training center, which has been led by ship officer Captain 2nd Rank Vladimir Fedorchuk for several years now.
New "year-olds" in the ranks
During the recent send-off of the Moscow GRKR for military service in the Mediterranean Sea, the commander Black Sea Fleet Vice Admiral Alexander Kletskov noted that along with an important international mission (an unofficial visit to the Italian port of Messina), the cruiser's crew will also have to solve common tasks for combat service. This is the study and maintenance of one's own department, keeping watch at working mechanisms, and acquiring practical experience. This is the most rapid development of young sailors.
The sea, long trips are best school professional skill. First, under the supervision and control of junior commanders, senior comrades, and then independently, young sailors begin to service the materiel.
GRKR "Moscow", as assured at a solemn rally on the first day of the campaign, its commander of the guard, Captain 1st Rank Igor Smolyak, the command of the fleet and its veterans, will honorably fulfill the task assigned to it. And the flagship of the fleet really adequately presented the St. Andrew's flag as in the open spaces mediterranean sea, and during a visit to the Italian port of Messina. 103 young sailors at the very beginning of the campaign were initiated into the guards, having sworn an oath to carry the honor and dignity of the guards sailor high. The long trip turned out to be very effective and full of combat training, and therefore became an important milestone for the formation of young sailors. A bilateral exercise was held between our cruiser and the newest destroyer of the Italian Navy URO Andrea Doria. The cruiser performed a number of tasks in a single voyage.
Already during this relatively short period of military service, young soldiers became full members of the crew, received admission to independent watchkeeping and maintenance of their management. Among the best, the deputy cruiser commander for educational work of the guards, captain 2nd rank Sergey Solomakha, noted the guard sailors signalman Kirill Ovchinnikov, senior gunner Aizor Shuikhanov and high current electrician Timofey Savchenko. These sailors passed the tests for admission to independent service of their department faster than others and contributed to the successful solution of all the tasks assigned to the crew.
Of course, young sailors still have a lot to do in order to become real specialists. But a start has been made. On the flagship of the fleet, they do not complain about shortened conscription periods. Here they look for and find ways for the fastest formation of newcomers to the combat formation.
