Novosibirsk Higher Military Command School selection committee. Admission rules
History reference:
Novosibirsk Higher Military command school founded on June 1, 1967 as the highest military-political combined arms school(NVVPOU) for the training of officers-political workers of the company level. The first recruitment of cadets was carried out on the basis of the training center of the Omsk Higher Combined Arms Command School. The school was housed in picturesque place Novosibirsk - Academgorodok, known in our country and around the world as the center of the Siberian branch Russian Academy Sciences. The only building that housed the entire school was the building of the Physics and Mathematics School (now Educational Building No. 1). On July 1, 1992, the NVVPOU was re-profiled into the Higher Combined Arms Command School (NVOKU). He was entrusted with the task of training platoon commanders of motorized rifle troops and military intelligence, and since 1994, with the transfer of the battalion special intelligence from the Ryazan VVDKU - officers for special intelligence units. In 1998, NVOKU was renamed into NVI, and in 2005 - into the Novosibirsk Higher Military Command School of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in connection with the ongoing reform of military education in the Armed Forces. The Novosibirsk Higher Military Command School is currently the only one in ground forces Oh educational institution, which trains specialists of four diverse profiles: officers of special intelligence units, commanders of reconnaissance platoons, commanders of motorized rifle platoons (the last intake was made in 2001) and, starting from 2002, deputy company commanders for educational work. Today, the Novosibirsk Higher Military Command School occupies one of the leading places among the universities of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Educational buildings and departments are equipped with modern equipment, computers, simulators. The formation of military knowledge and practical skills among cadets begins from the first day of entering the institute, at field trips and classes. Shooting out small arms, driving combat vehicles are held in training center schools, shooting from BMP weapons - at a military training ground, and parachuting - at the base of the brigade special purpose. Cadets are also taught humanitarian, socio-economic, natural science and general technical disciplines, including the history of the Fatherland, cultural studies, philosophy, political science, jurisprudence, economics, sociology, psychology and pedagogy, higher mathematics and Computer Engineering, foreign languages.
A mandatory form of training is a military internship, during which senior students test their knowledge and skills in practice. School graduates can manage units in any type of combat, shoot from all types of small arms, drive combat and transport vehicles, train and educate subordinates, and organize the daily activities of units. Studying proccess requires maximum effort from cadets. According to the results of reviews on graduates of NVVKU recent years, more than half of them took or are taking part in hostilities in Chechnya, in Tajikistan, as part of the peacekeeping forces in Yugoslavia and in other hot spots, most of them were awarded orders and medals. For about 40 years, the university has been producing comprehensively developed, cultured, physically strong officers capable of performing any tasks both while serving in the army and in civilian life. Over the years, 22 graduates of the school were awarded the title of Hero Soviet Union and Hero of Russia, every fourth graduate was awarded state awards. Being a cadet today, and then an officer - a graduate of the Novosibirsk Military School - is hard male work and a great honor, which a young man is obliged to do a lot.

On the eve of the Military Intelligence Day, RIA Novosti correspondents visited the only military university in Russia where this profession is taught. Teachers and cadets told who they were recruited for reconnaissance and why they were taught to conquer Elbrus, parachute underwater and eat snakes.

Running between buildings
At 10.00 am, we were greeted by absolute silence on the spacious territory of the military university, classes have been going on in the classrooms for a long time. The routine at the university is close to the army, the teacher of the department explains military intelligence Ivan Poshekhonov. Rise - at 6.00, then exercises and breakfast. Classes start at 8:30 and run for six hours. At 15.00 - lunch, and then another three hours of classes. End - at 22.00.
With an officer we go to the building of the faculty of military intelligence, in the course of running we overtake a platoon of cadets.
“The break between classes is ten minutes, and the walk between some buildings is 15 minutes, so you have to run around,” the officer explains. “I once studied here myself, it was the same tradition. not to waste on undressing. The first course, sometimes, is late - it is difficult for them to get used to after the "citizen".
Where the cadets ran, a lost pen and eraser remained on the pavement. That's right - freshmen ran!
Who will go to explore
Military intelligence is one of the elite army professions, it is very popular, but the selection for this faculty is the most stringent.
“We have people to choose from, usually the competition is about ten people per place,” says Viktor Ozherelyev, professor at the intelligence department. “We are also given the right to recruit 10% more cadets so that, if necessary, we can weed out unsuitable people.”
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia wants to develop a special intelligence vehicle for 112 million rublesAccording to the design documentation, the product is intended, in particular, to search for and identify ground stationary and moving targets around the clock and all weather, solve navigation problems, transmit intelligence data to a command post, solve problems of hitting detected targets, ensuring mobility and protecting the crew.Based on the results of consideration of the submitted documents, the number of applicants is reduced to three people per place. Unlike a regular university, there are higher requirements for health and physical training applicants. To obtain highest mark, you need to pull yourself up 25 times, run a 100-meter run in 12.1 seconds, and overcome three kilometers in 11 minutes.
"Our cadets have the first health group, with this you can become a pilot, a paratrooper - anyone. To make decisions in a military situation, a scout needs self-confidence, psychological stability, and, finally, he must be able to think quickly and well, so the third component of a scout is intelligence, "says the professor.
“But the most important thing is the desire to become a scout, so if a cadet gets here against his will, nothing will come of it. On their own initiative, cadets do not leave the faculty, it happens that teachers do not want to teach a person further,” continues the interlocutor.
Every year, the faculty of military intelligence recruits different amount cadets - depending on the order of the Ministry of Defense. A training company is formed from the course, which is divided into platoons. And the entire faculty is united in a training battalion.
Upon graduation from the university, the cadet receives two specialties - "personnel management" and "military intelligence". Graduates do not remain without work - they are in demand not only in military intelligence units, but also in other branches of the military and special services.
hazing
Until 1991, military intelligence officers were taught in Kyiv, after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1992, training was transferred to Novosibirsk.
"Why?" thought Ozherelyev. "Perhaps the calculation was on the endurance and unpretentiousness of the Siberians? It is known that about half of the students in a university usually come from the region where it is located."
Now cadets from various regions study here, although there are many Siberians.
“It doesn’t matter how far from home you study,” says fourth-year cadet Mikhail Startsev, who came from Volgograd region, - it is important that it is interesting to study, but here it is very interesting.
Mikhail went to the army for his older brother, an officer. And I chose intelligence because it is an elite education, an elite service in the future.
“Recently, a lot of guys from the south of Russia have been coming in,” says Poshekhonov. “They are distinguished by a special corrosiveness, I would say. they are a pleasure to work with."
Four dark-skinned guys in civilian clothes suddenly come out to meet us. “I wish you good health!” They say in unison, Poshekhonov responds to the greeting and, noticing a surprised look, explains: “We went to the mosque for the Friday prayer. .
Military intelligence officers do not have hazing, Poshekhonov notes.
“What kind of hazing can be if you and this person are on reconnaissance tomorrow?” he says. “We don’t have martial arts at all, in this respect we differ. troops, but there was no occasion to call a soldier some kind of "monkey".
I will also address the soldier, the cadet, by name and patronymic: "Ivan Ivanovich, come here, you scoundrel! I will punish him for his misconduct, but he will remember that he is not a "monkey", but Ivan Ivanovich is a respected person."
Command language
During their studies, cadets master skills in several areas. They even learn the basics of mountaineering. They are practicing in Altai. Every year, the university team participates in Elbrusiada, a competition where you need to climb Elbrus within a certain time.
Reconnaissance and cleansing settlements: special forces competition in SiberiaIntelligence and special forces platoons of Siberia compete in Novosibirsk region. Within four days, fighters must demonstrate theoretical knowledge and skills in eight disciplines - from physical and fire training to the ability to provide medical care.Cadets learn how to handle special equipment, they also undergo landing training - they make parachute jumps day and night, into the water, protracted, with cargo and special equipment in a wetsuit. During the study, everyone must make at least 50 jumps. They jump - from the first course.
Freshman Semyon Groo has only been studying for a couple of months, but has already made four jumps.
"I am from the city of Lesosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, I graduated there cadet corps because he always dreamed of becoming an officer. We have already begun classes in the management class, where commanding skills are being worked out, ”he says laconically in a military way.
We went to the management class. Here, according to Sergei Zhukov, senior lecturer at the intelligence department, cadets develop command language.
Training places are separated by partitions, cadets in headsets, with a map and compass, plan a route, as if from a combat vehicle. In front of them is a model of a training ground, on which military units are marked with lights - their own and others. Cadets command their scouts, perform a training task.
Professional language should be concise and understandable to subordinates. "Brevity is the sister of talent, but here it is in military terms," says Zhukov. "As the task is set, so it will be accomplished."
A set of equipment created at the department helps future commanders to develop their skills. It allows you to track and direct scouts operating at the training ground right from here. Video and photo images are transmitted to two monitors from drones, and the commander manages the situation "in the field" at the computer. This development is the know-how of the department.
"But the fact is that when the war starts, all these systems will be turned off," says Ozherelyev, "and then the scouts will have to rely on themselves, a map, a compass and personal weapons."
Weeks in the fields
Cadets are taught to survive in any conditions. They must be able not only to make fire without matches, but also to feed themselves, at least somewhere - in the taiga or the desert. Therefore, scouts know, for example, how to handle snakes and how to eat them.
But trophy food and drink (unlike weapons) is strictly forbidden for scouts to use - they can be specially poisoned.
Second-year cadet Denis Grishaev admits that he has not tried the kite yet. "We are not taught to eat snakes (in practice), we are trained so that if there is a need, we could do it," he says.
And to the question: "What else are they preparing for?", he simply answers: "To defend the Motherland."
In the Grishaev family, three generations of men are military men, so the example was always before my eyes. He chose the Novosibirsk university because his uncle, a military intelligence officer, said that both in the service in Afghanistan and after "in civilian life" the knowledge and the character that he had brought up in a military school were useful to him.
Denis already feels this upbringing. “You like learning, you discover something in yourself that you would never know about yourself. combat training these are constant field trips, night parachute jumps, daytime, protracted ones. When you live in the fields for a week - here the willpower is tempered, the core inherent in the military appears.
The Novosibirsk Higher Military-Political Combined Arms School (NVVPOU) was established in 1967 and located in the Novosibirsk Academgorodok, on the basis of the Physics and Mathematics Boarding School of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The first set of cadets was held on the basis of the Omsk VOKU named after. M.V. Frunze.
According to the order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR of December 16, 1968, June 1 was declared the day of the school.
A bright page in the history of the school in the 1980s. At that time, it became one of the largest military educational institutions in the country. Our graduates have proven themselves in the army as well-trained officers who are able to lead military units in peacetime and combat situations, skillfully and effectively carry out educational work. True patriots, courageously fulfilling their duty, they heroically proved themselves in great deeds. Many of them participated in the liquidation of the accident on Chernobyl nuclear power plant, others are baptized by fire in Afghanistan.
Among the first Afghan officers who became posthumously Heroes of the Soviet Union, there are our graduates: Senior Lieutenant Shornikov N.A. and Lieutenant Demakov A.I. In March 1981, by order of the USSR Ministry of Defense, Senior Lieutenant Shornikov N.A. forever enrolled in the lists of the personnel of the school. Three years later, in May 1984, by order of the USSR Ministry of Defense, deputy commander of a motorized rifle company for political affairs, Hero of the Soviet Union, Lieutenant Demakov A.I. enlisted forever in the lists of the 13th company of cadets of the NVVPOU. A street in Academgorodok was named after him, a bust of the Hero and a memorial plaque were installed.
A new stage in the life of the school began in the 1990s. In connection with the abolition of the political agencies of the NVVPOU in May 1992, it was reformed into the Novosibirsk Higher Combined Arms Command School (NVOKU).
Currently, 25 graduates, 17 of them posthumously, have been awarded the high title of Hero.
In 2009, in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, the school was reorganized and became a branch of the VUNTS SV "Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation".
On October 1, 2009, professional retraining courses for reserve officers were opened on the basis of the school. In 2011, the courses were transformed into the faculty of professional retraining and advanced training. During the existence of the courses and the faculty, more than 800 servicemen who are retiring to the reserve have undergone professional retraining within the walls of the school. The faculty also implements advanced training programs for military officers before being appointed to a higher position.
Since 2011, the university has been accepting cadets-future professional sergeants for training under the program of secondary vocational education in the specialty " Maintenance and repair of vehicles.
The school also trains junior specialists for the troops.

Exploration and cleansing of settlements: special forces competitions in SiberiaSiberian reconnaissance and special forces platoons compete in the Novosibirsk region.
“I am from the city of Lesosibirsk in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, I graduated from the cadet corps there, because I always dreamed of becoming an officer. We have already started classes in the management class, where commanding skills are practiced,” he says laconically in a military way.
"You like learning, you discover something in yourself that you would never have known about yourself. Combat training is constant field trips, night skydiving, daytime, protracted. When you live in the fields for a week, willpower is tempered here, a core inherent in the military appears ".
