INFO DAY
(compass in the world of novelties)
In the interior of today, it is easier to imagine a portrait of a contemporary behind a computer monitor, with a laptop, than with a book in hand.
XXI century - century information technologies, and you can't argue with that. And yet, the opinion that you can limit your knowledge of the world around you only by TV and the INTERNET is considered a dangerous delusion.
There is such a mission of good literature - to bring people together, to unite generations. Fathers and mothers, grandfathers, grandmothers and grandchildren, children and teachers who read the same books begin to understand each other better.
N. A. Rubakin also wrote that “a library is not a place for passive issuance of books to the reader, as they sell goods in a shop; these are weapons and sharp weapons, these are sparks that kindle a person with an interest in science, knowledge, struggle.
No matter how highly educated a person is, he still faces the tasks of educating conscience, humanity, goodness, without which comprehensive development and an active life are impossible. Each of us needs an adviser, a friend, and an interlocutor. All these roles can often be filled by a good, smart book. A librarian should help everyone choose just such literature.
Our library holds traditional information days for all categories of readers. During the day, it will be possible to get acquainted with book novelties on various topics, listen to detailed overview new arrivals.
Today, libraries remain the most accessible centers of culture for the population. We notice that the number of active, regular readers is declining. Readers' requests are more often related to the satisfaction of momentary or entertainment needs. Educational and cognitive motives predominate in children and adolescents. Particular attention is paid to the category of older readers. They are interested in the series "Health", "Women's novels", detective stories, "It's interesting", "Life of wonderful people, etc.
On October 26, a day of information was held at the MUK "MCB". The novelties of fiction, scientific-cognitive, reference literature were presented to the readers' attention. Particular attention was paid to a series of books on medicine, technology, agriculture. Students are offered textbooks on economics, accounting, and law. New authors aroused great interest: Coelho, Vishnevsky, Shilova, N. Perumov, F. Pullman, S. Lukyanenko. The fantastic series "S.T.A.L.K.E.R", as well as authors such as R. Glushkov, V. Shalygin, V. Orekhov, A. Stepanov, attracted the attention of young people. Lovers of women's novels were also satisfied.
10 "A" class was invited to review new arrivals. Chaltyr School No. 1 (class leader Chibichyan G. G.). With an introductory note on the role of libraries in modern world, about the significance of the book in human life, the librarian of the reading room Shakirova A.V. Biology", "Art", "Great commanders", "Cars of the world". The students were revealed the value of these publications, their information and encyclopedic material, which will help them in the educational process. A series of books "Mysteries of Ancient Civilizations": D. Lang "Armenians", "Georgians", E. Parker "Tatars", T. Sulimirsky "Sarmatians", were especially noted. The students were attracted by the design and content of the books, the relevance of studying the peoples of the Caucasus in the modern world.
Librarian Arzumanyan M. S. reviewed new arrivals in the Discover the World series, which includes books by G. A. Krylov "Automobiles", "Great discoveries and inventions", Chernenko G. T. "Motorcycles", Makhlina M. D. " Insects ", Shpakovsky V. O. "Indians", etc. This series of books attracted the attention of students with its bright design, brevity of presentation of cognitive material.
Our culture is integral and integral part global cultural heritage in its highest manifestations. We won the world's biggest battles, we were the first to conquer space, we won all possible sports titles, etc. All this will be told by the books of the series “The Name of Russia” - from the largest project of the year on Russian television: “Alexander II”, “A. S. Pushkin”, “A. V. Suvorov "and others. Who main character fatherland? Ruler? Martyr? Poet? Warrior? Thinker? The country has made a historic choice, and the books will tell us about our greatest compatriots in the history of the country.
To help professional education the following books were offered: Baranovsky K. A. "Waiter - bartender", "Facer - tiler", "Joiner - carpenter", etc.
The review was completed with the suggested literature of the World of Fantasy series. fantasy is fascinating reading, these are books in which science is present insofar as ...
Our novelties were of great interest to listeners and visitors. Authors such as O. Volotskaya "Enter the Shadow", A. Gravatsky "Mama", D. Kazakov "Invasion of the Chimera" and others are especially readable today.
By the day of information, a bulletin of new arrivals was prepared, booklets "Native land", "World of fantasy", "How to maintain health" were published, including bibliographic lists of new products.
Then the students got acquainted with the new literature on their own. Many of them took home their favorite books. Throughout the day, all readers could freely get acquainted with new products and choose a book to their liking.
“Books are ships of thought,” said the ancient philosopher. And we hope that this ship will never enter the harbor of silence and despondency, but will carefully carry its precious cargo from generation to generation.
White snow, blue ice

Christmas trees, pranks, undertakings,
Flakes, streets, guests,
Laughter, radiance and flight,
This - New Year!
S. Shestakov
In the Library - the center of communication and information on New Year's Eve a real holiday was held: with Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden, with the Horse - the symbol of the year, with bunnies, bears and other animals. Princes and princesses, beautiful ladies and musketeers also came to the holiday. Everyone had fun - the guys read poetry, sang songs, danced round the Christmas tree to the music. The very real Santa Claus handed out gifts and did not forget to ask which good deed made a guest of the holiday in the outgoing year. The children quietly whispered their desires to Santa Claus.
Our dear friends of the library - may all your wishes come true! Dear Santa Claus, put only five boxes under the Christmas tree for our readers: fill the first with health, the second with good luck, the third with kindness, the fourth with patience, and put faith in the fifth! And tie all these boxes with a ribbon of happiness! Thanks, Santa Claus!
We invite you to the exhibition "Talisman of the Year"
Dear readers! An exhibition of creative works "Talisman of the Year" has opened in the Library - a center for communication and information! The exhibition can be viewed during the library's opening hours.
New Year's Library Journey
New Year holidays have begun in the Library - Communication and Information Center.
New Year ... There is something magical, mysterious in it. In all countries, the New Year is celebrated in different ways, but everywhere this holiday has common features: hope for happiness and faith in a miracle.
Today, students from 24 schools made a New Year's trip to different countries, got acquainted with interesting traditions and customs of celebrating the New Year of other peoples. The children were surprised to hear the touching story of the most New Year's song "A Christmas tree was born in the forest", the extraordinary fate of its author, R. A. Kudasheva. They took part in a real performance, where they themselves were actors. They had to be a Christmas tree, and a snowstorm, and a peasant, and a horse. The rest accompanied the action by singing the main New Year's song.
"Star hour" with New Year's riddles revealed the participants - the winners, who had to fight in mobile competitions for the main prize.
Not everywhere on our planet the New Year comes at the same time, not everywhere the New Year's fun smells like a Christmas tree and frost, there are an incredible number of signs, beliefs and legends different peoples, but always this holiday is associated with joy and hope for the future.
New Year wishes come true
On New Year's Eve, everything in life turns out.
Problems suddenly become easy,
Luck flies to the losers
All grievances and sorrows are forgiven,
Dreams of people, cherished, come true,
Enemies become true friends -
All evil evaporates, I guess.
The light becomes much better -
There is no better holiday, of course.
Healthy Lifestyle Day
In the Library - the center of communication and information November 28 was declared the Day of a healthy lifestyle. On this day, the action "Change a cigarette for a candy" took place. The participants of the action were readers from 14 years and older. The opening of the action began with the show trial “Cigarette Trial”, which took place as part of the info-hour “Let everyone have tomorrow”. For a whole hour, together with the students of 24 schools, the library staff talked about health, a healthy lifestyle and bad habits that destroy our health.
Human health is the main value in life. You can't buy it for any amount of money. Those who believe that only middle-aged and elderly people should take care of their health are deeply mistaken. “Take care of the dress again, and health from a young age” - these are not empty words, because being sick, it is impossible to realize your dreams, there will not be enough strength to overcome life's tasks. Being healthy has become both fashionable and prestigious. The basis of the discussion was a booklet specially prepared for this meeting, “Do not die in ignorance”, which tells about what the concept of “Healthy lifestyle” includes:
- Movement
- hygiene
- Nutrition
- Rejection of bad habits
As a result of the meeting, we came to the conclusion that the words of the famous ancient Greek physician Hippocrates are relevant at all times: “Your health is the most valuable thing you have. You are given only one organism for the rest of your life. If you think that because you are healthy now, you will always be healthy, you are mistaken.”
There is a scientifically proven fact that a healthy lifestyle allows people to live up to a hundred years or more! These people do not smoke, do not drink, lead a healthy lifestyle. Let us remember that the foundation of a healthy millennium is our healthy century! Good health is the basis for a long, happy and fulfilling life.
"Meetings at Zavelichie"
To the 85th anniversary of the birth of V.S. Pikul
October 24 in the Library - the center of communication and information was held another meeting in the club "Meetings on Zavelichie", dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of VS Pikul.
Fate gave the writer only 62 years of life. For 40 years literary activity Valentin Pikul created more than 30 novels and short stories. All his work from the first to the last line serves to instill in the reader a sense of patriotism, respect for the memory of ancestors, and love for the Motherland.
Of course, the novels of V. Pikul are not a documentary narrative. But the undoubted merit of the writer can be called the fact that he managed to draw the attention of readers to history - first of all, to the history of our country. He managed to combine the chronicle of historical events with a fascinating plot, which led to the extraordinary popularity of his novels.
They were published in magazines, which then went from hand to hand in copies. Pikul's books were sold with coupons as a reward for handed over waste paper. All his books were a huge success, his popularity was extraordinary.
The writer himself wrote in his autobiography: “Knowing the past of the Fatherland makes a person richer in spirit, firmer in character and stronger in mind. History instills in us the necessary sense of national pride. Comparing the past with the present (and drawing conclusions for the future), the reader should know that our state did not have blessed times, and the life of the Russian people has always been associated with overcoming unheard-of crises.
His fans gathered to meet with the writer. Especially for this meeting, the writer's books were selected from the readers' gifts and offered as a gift to all lovers of the writer's work. Everyone liked this gift and we dare to hope that it will take its rightful place in the personal libraries of our readers.
Poetry of conscience and love
To the 90th anniversary of the birth of E. Asadov
On September 26, a meeting of the club "Meetings on Zavelichie" took place in the library. Kids from MDOU No. 53 "Cinderella" and the vocal group of the Children's Center "Hope" with teachers came to congratulate the members of the club on the holiday of people of elegant age.
The evening of the meeting continued with the reading of favorite poems.
A very long time ago, one of the employees of our library was handed over by a reader an old notebook with poems, among which were the poems of E. Asadov. Now this notebook is more than forty years old... It turned out that many members of the club carefully kept the same notebooks, and they kindly agreed to bring them...
It is said that the poet's life is to some extent reflected in his works. But it also happens that the fate of the artist is already a legend in itself, and in this case, a special reader's interest arises in it. The life of E. Asadov is an example of such a fate. Past the war from 1941 to 1944, E. Asadov had many awards, among which was Golden Star Hero of the Soviet Union. But the poet considered the most important, most expensive award to be the trust in himself and the love of millions of readers.
As a reward fell to me for work,
Without any loud statement
Shining eyes, salute smiles
And millions of heartbeats.
And even without the regalia of a high rank,
I may be 100 times happier than everyone else.
And to be more precise, the recognition of the people -
The highest award ever.
When Eduard Asadov was asked what topics excite him the most - military, civil, lyrical or, perhaps, poems about nature? He answered like this: “For me, there are no favorite or unloved topics. For I write not with a cold mind, but with my heart. And only about what deeply worries me. And I consider poetry not only poems about love, but in general everything that comes out from under my pen. What has passed through the heart is lyrics. In bewitching lines about love, war, friendship, nature, feelings, everyone can find something of their own. At our meeting, almost all those present read E. Asadov's favorite lines. He is remembered, his poems are still loved ...
When I perish in a storm whirlwind,
My friends! You don't believe in my death!
I am your poet! I fought evil
For your happiness with a bullet and a verse,
And for a poet there is no death!
Results of the action "The best reader's form"
On September 15, the Library - Center for Communication and Information summed up the results of the summer campaign "The Best Reader's Form". Library staff aimed to identify and encourage best readers and users. The nominations in the competition were very diverse: "The most sensible reader", "A lover of book secrets", "Musical polymath", "Reading girlfriends", "The most inquisitive reader", etc.
On the day of debriefing, many readers came with their mothers and fathers, and all together took part in literary duel for the SUCCESS PRIZE. To get it, the guys had to prove that they not only read a lot of books, but also remember book heroes, can tell about their adventures and wanderings. Parents also had to work hard - they remembered unprecedented animals from fairy tale countries and helped to name the given objects from the black box. SUCCESS PRIZE was won by Aleksandrov Alexander, a student of the 5th grade of the B-school, and all the rest received letters of thanks and gift books.
Information Day "Amazing gift - WORD"
Every reader could take part in the game "Vocabular Fun". As it turned out, both adults and children like to guess riddles, puzzles and charades. Pupils of the 3rd grade competed in the bibliographic game library "The World of the Young Wise Man". The children were recommended a book:
Dahl, V. I. Illustrated Dictionary Russian language: modern. writing: favorites: more than 700 illustrations. / V. I. Dal. - M. : AST: Astrel, 2007. - 160 p.
This book features color illustrations. Having opened it, you can not only read the interpretations of long-forgotten words, find out the unusual meanings of the words already known, but also see their visual images on the canvases of famous artists.

Each participant of the Information Day received a bookmark with information about V.I. Dale and his work.
"Sand Fantasy"
On August 23, in the Library - Center for Communication and Information, teacher Dvornichenko Anastasia Vladimirovna held a master class on sand painting.
Interaction with sand is one of the most popular areas of art therapy in the world. Experts have long paid attention to the positive psychological effect of learning to draw with sand. Classes allow you to get rid of stress, fears, worries, help relieve tension, anxiety and phobias. At present, classes conducted by teachers not only with children, but also together with their parents are very common! Creating a picture by a child with the help of mom or dad gives him a lot of positive emotions, and helps parents better understand their child!
The master class was attended by children of all ages - from 3 to 12 years old - and everyone was interested!
With the help of a teacher and parents, a handful of sand in the hands of children turned into a butterfly, a dolphin, or even a forest or the sea! The children quickly mastered the techniques of drawing in the sand. It turned out to be interesting, useful and just great! Everyone received a booklet for memory - a memo "Sand Fantasies".
Children's writer Masha Lukashkina visiting the library
R.L. Stevenson "The Book"
(translated by M. Lukashkina)
Watch the kids jump
Around the book they gave.
And you follow their example:
Rejoice, jump in moderation.
With the same curiosity as children
Flip through these pages.
Read at least to yourself, at least aloud.
And do not remain deaf to the meaning.
Pink glasses from M. Lukashkina
Who do you think needs pink glasses? Probably someone who is in a bad mood.
The children who came to the meeting with the children's writer Maria Lukashkina were in a great mood. They got acquainted with the poems of Maria Mikhailovna, learned how to determine poetic meters, realized that books are interesting not only to read, but also to write. After all, the author can always explain where “the old women come from”, “how the paths end” or “where the gnomes live”.
Maria Lukashkina often publishes her works in Murzilka. She “brought” the main character, Murzilka, to the meeting. He very quickly met the guys, made friends with them, and gave everyone his magazine as a keepsake, advised them to read it more often.
It turned out that many guys try to compose poetry. For the poem "Cities", the author, Ksenia Sopenko, a student of school 25, received a prize from M. Lukashkina - the book "Pink Glasses".
Video report of the meeting in the library
Day of information "The land is my familiar and unfamiliar"
In the Library - the Center for Communication and Information On June 18, the Day of Information "The land is my familiar and unfamiliar" was held. Children from children's health camps of schools No. 8, 24, 4 became participants in the events held as part of the Information Day.
Our guests went on a distance travel through the protected areas of the Pskov region, visited the Polistovsky Reserve, learned about many wonderful inhabitants of the swamp region. The trip was called “Little Wonders of Big Nature” and, indeed, it is surprising that a small sundew is an insectivorous plant, grass and moored frogs and a common toad are also small inhabitants of the swamps ... The library workers prepared a lot of informative information for this meeting. For example, at the exhibition of books "Reserved places of the Pskov region" material was presented about plants and animals listed in the Red Book of the Pskov region.
Literature review "Through the book into the world of nature" included the following books:
Shishkin. Tale of the forest artist/ [Galina Vetrova]. - M.: White City, 2001. - 11 p.
“Many artists lived in Russia, and few were as famous as Shishkin.
Most of all, he loved to depict forests, rivers, trees ... Together, this is called "landscape". And almost always in his paintings the bright sun shone, the blue sky shone, the grass turned green. He loved everything to be beautiful, strong, healthy” - this is a fairy tale about art.
Fiction is closely intertwined with real history and helps the young reader to easily remember the necessary terms, important facts, and most importantly - the paintings themselves of the famous artist.
Sladkov, N. I. Forest secrets: stories and fairy tales / Nikolay Sladkov; rice. N. Charushina. - M.: Children's literature, 2002. - 398 p. - (School library).
Sladkov, N. I. Into the forest in riddles: (For young pathfinders): photobook / N. Sladkov. - L .: Children's literature, 1983. - 95 p.
In order to find yourself in a wild forest, it is not at all necessary to take a train ticket every time and go to distant lands - you can just reach out to the bookshelf and take a book by Nikolai Sladkov, sit comfortably in your favorite corner and be transported to the beautiful world of nature... In the forest you can see a lot of interesting things.
You will learn, for example, how bears wake up in the spring because the melted snow “wet their pants” with them. And here is a test for your taste: what do you think is tastier - willow buds or birch buds? You will learn that there are birds that do not fly to warm climes for the winter, but on the contrary - they fly to us, to our forests.
The writer Nikolai Sladkov devoted all his works to nature. He wrote: “Everyone goes to the forest for berries, for mushrooms, for nuts. And what if you go to the forest for riddles? It is interesting to collect berries, mushrooms, nuts, and it is even more interesting to look for riddles. What are mushrooms, nuts! Collect - calm down. And as you look for riddles, you will lose peace. And when you found a riddle - so give a clue, then go into the forest, look for a clue. And off we go - no end in sight!”
Afonkin, S. Yu. Trees: school guide: for Wednesdays. and Art. school age / S. Yu. Afonkin; ill. E.V. Konkova. - St. Petersburg. : Baltic Book Company, 2006. - 95 p. - (Learn the world).
Read this richly illustrated book and you will learn a lot about our "green friend". Each forest has its own look and character. Plants in it are arranged in tiers. In the temperate zone where we live, the first two tiers are occupied by coniferous and deciduous trees, the third by shrubs, and the lowest (fourth and fifth) by shrubs, mosses and grasses.
Children's Encyclopedia. Trees from A to Z. - 1998.- No. 5. - 43 p. - (Arguments and Facts).
Throughout the history of mankind, the tree has played a huge role in people's lives.
What was not done from this malleable material.
The various properties of some trees and their significance in people's lives are described in this publication.
Sergeeva, M. N. Plant world. Book of Records: Facts that boggle the imagination / Maria Sergeeva. - M. : OLISS: EKSMO, 2009. - 128 p.
Unique creations that transform solar energy into living matter; the lungs of the Earth, which feed the atmosphere with oxygen; extreme people living in harsh climatic conditions; natural doctors and healers - all the fun about flora in this edition.
Trees: facts, finds, discoveries/ [aut. text by D. Burney; per. from English. V. Svechnikov]. - M. : Makhaon, 2010. - 64 p. + 1 electron. opt. disc (DVD ROM).
In this amazing book, you will meet such familiar and yet unfamiliar creatures - trees. Find out how many years the forest giants live and how they manage to become so huge. You will read about what forests are on Earth and what amazing trees grow in them. And you will also meet with the forest peoples, who for thousands of years have made their dwellings in the forests. Well versed in plants, they knew which ones were poisonous and which ones could be used as medicines. In some parts of the world, people still live in forests today. Their lives are in complete harmony with nature.
But recently, the existence of forest peoples is threatened by the invasion of civilization - intensive cutting down of trees and unusual diseases that they become infected with from tourists. Unusual information is contained on the pages of the book, where the trees are the heroes of myths and legends. For example: in Scandinavian mythology there is a tree with the name "World Tree" - this is a huge ash tree growing on a distant unknown island. Its roots go to the underworld, and its branches reach the heavens and stretch over all the countries of the world. The tree feeds the gods, and people, and all animals. The time spent reading this book is time well spent for the benefit of your mind.
The prepared information was accompanied by video materials: “The most tall trees»; "The most beautiful trees"; "The Most Unusual Trees", etc. The presenter prepared photographs of a simple and at the same time unusual plant of our city - globular willow. Based on photographs taken brainstorm"Mystery of our city": watch a video sequence of images of a tree that grows in our city. What is the name of the tree? Surprise knew no bounds, since no one guessed this tree.
Everyone who wished was given the opportunity to make leaflets-memos of prohibition signs: what not to do in the forest!
During the Information Day, our readers replenished their knowledge of wildlife, got acquainted with educational environmental literature, read poems about nature:
Nature is home
in which we live
And the forests rustle in it,
flowing and splashing rivers.
Under the blue sky
under the golden sun
We want in that house
live forever.

Pushkin Day in Russia
There is one name that is known and dear to every person since childhood. Pushkin...
In memory of the great Russian poet from school 4, the library of the Center for Communication and Information held a literary festival “What wisdom is in these fairy tales!”
Reading Pushkin's fairy tales
And I see before me
Cat in scientist's chains
And a squirrel under a pine tree.
The proud queen sits
And looking in the mirror
A magic mirror
She tells the truth.
beautiful princess
On the bench lies
A faithful dog
It circles around her.
Heroes of Pushkin's fairy tales
Always with me, everywhere:
Both in joy and in sorrow,
In sorrow and trouble.
Come to my aid
Will cheer me up.
I will remember them
They are my friends.
(Baranovskaya Oksana, Velikoluksky district, Pskov region)
From the introductory conversation, young admirers of A.S. Pushkin learned new facts about the childhood of little Sasha. The story about the years of study in Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum. They were interested to know how the lyceum of that time differed from the modern one. orphanage or boarding school. The children took an active part in the literary quiz "The best connoisseur of A.S. Pushkin's fairy tales", unanimously guessed the heroes and names of fairy tales. The Scientist Cat handed over to the children a magical Lukomorsky bag, in which various differences from Pushkin's fairy tales were hidden.
At the end of the event, the children enjoyed reading their favorite lines from the poet's poems at the book exhibition.
Summer holiday and books in the library
And so another school year has ended. The holiday of summer, sun, laughter and, of course, books in the Library - Communication and Information Center lasted for several days.
The holiday was accompanied by miracles, adventures on the fabulous island "Reading". Our guests showed their knowledge by being smart in answering the questions of joke exams, for example, they had to remember fairy tale character, climbing out of his skin (The Frog Princess) or name the name of the character, whom "the Poles call - Edzina, the Czechs - Ezinka, the Slovaks - Jerzy Baba" (Baba Yaga).
Having passed the exams, the holiday continued on the street, where it was already necessary to show not only the knowledge of the books read, but also strength, endurance, dexterity.
In the first days of the holidays, the children received a wonderful holiday as a gift! So let the coming summer be kind, warm, bookish!
Campaign "I want to be friends with nature"
On June 5, the first guests of the Library - Communication and Information Center were kids from kindergarten No. 53 "Cinderella" - this is how the campaign to attract preschoolers to reading began.
The children got acquainted with the writer and artist E. Charushin, with his drawings and illustrations for stories. We read and discussed the stories about the little kitten Tyupka. With passion they recalled and told poems about cats, who did not know the poem, he described his pet with the help of leading questions of the presenter. For example:
Librarian: "Sonya, what breed is your cat?"
Sonya, after a little thought: "Normal."
Librarian: "Renata, does your cat like to eat meat?"
Renata: "Loves. He has no teeth, I also have no teeth, they fell out (opens and shows his mouth) "
Librarian: "Vitya, how big is your cat?"
Vitya: “Such, taco-oh, taco-oh-oh (from a lump depicted with the help of palms folded together, the “cat” grows huge as these palms open)!”
The meeting ended with a friendly meow of children and librarians.
To the 1150th anniversary of Slavic writing
1150th anniversary of creation Slavic writing in the Library - the Center for Communication and Information celebrated the Day of Information "Letters of the Slavic patterned ligature."
The exhibition “Enlightening the Slavic Land” featured publications dedicated to the creators of the first Slavic alphabet, Cyril and Methodius, who tell about the life-feat of the first teachers of the Slavs. These pundits created the Slavic alphabet, which we use to this day.
The book aroused great interest among young readers:
Voskoboynikov, V. M. Kirill and Methodius/ Valery Voskoboynikov; artistic Yu. and M. Cherepanovs. - M. : ROSMEN, 2005. - 63 p. - (Soul of Russia. Our Orthodox saints).
The book contains many interesting details not only about the life of Cyril and Methodius, but also a story about Byzantium, about the ancient cities of Crimea, about the inhabitants of the Slavic lands, about the struggle for Orthodoxy.
The hour of knowledge "Skillfully the ancestors of the book decorated" was visited by students of the 5th grade of Lyceum No. 4. The information was listened to and looked at with surprise that books in the old days were decorated with gold, silver, precious stones, that books had locks and legs on which the book was placed, and only then opened for reading. The fact that in public libraries books were chained to the shelves with iron chains, the guys believed only when they saw the corresponding photo of the slide presentation.
On this day, for readers in the format of "direct utterance", a blitz workshop "Once upon a time there was a word" was held. Schoolchildren were offered outdated words for identification, which they could explain themselves or with the help of dictionaries: CALCULATION - teaching, VERB - word, LEPSHIY - the best, HYTRETS - artist, creator, LEPOTA - beauty, etc. On this day, the guys learned what it means to be not just "classmates", but "classmates".
And they became them: “in the old Russian school there was a custom: when a student completed some part of the training - learned the letters, read the first book - he brought a “pot of porridge” to the teacher for science. Since then, classmates have been called all those who studied together, which means they ate the same porridge.
Porridge, cooked according to an old recipe, was tasty and healthy!
"And the book leaves us the memory of the war"
May 7 at 11.00 as part of International Promotion“Reading to children about the war” in the Library-Center for Communication and Information, high-profile readings “And the book leaves us the memory of the war” were held. Pupils of the 1st grade of 24 schools took part in the action.
The veteran of the Great Patriotic War Glazunova Nadezhda Efimovna became the guest of honor. She met the war as a teenager, but, despite her young age, she worked in the rear, replacing adults who had gone to the front. Then she joined an underground organization. Together with the same boys and girls, she helped partisans undermine enemy warehouses, cars, went on reconnaissance, and rescued wounded soldiers.
After Nadezhda Efimovna's speech, a minute of silence was announced in memory of the dead, and then the guys congratulated her on the holiday by reading poems and handing flowers.
Y. Yakovlev's book "How Seryozha Went to War" was chosen for joint reading. After listening to the text of the fairy tale, the first-graders learned how little Seryozha turned into a fighter, in whose chest he beat, gained strength and strengthened his heart, capable of stopping any enemy at the right moment, and Grandfather’s words sounded in the boy’s mind: “You wanted to know how a feat is performed ... It's worth a human life."
We can't forget that war
Gone already in the last century.
She is in you, she is in me
As in every Russian person.

Festive meeting of the club "Meetings on Zavelichie"
On May 6, the Library - Center for Communication and Information held a festive meeting of the club "Meetings on Zavelichie".
Among the members of the club there are veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and children of the war, and home front workers.
Therefore, all those who came to the evening were met by a festive "fireworks" on the pavement, which was arranged by preschoolers from kindergarten No. 35 and 53.
For a long time and diligently, they painted their gifts to the veterans on the pavement, then very touchingly congratulated all those present and handed them flowers.
After warm words, the participants of the evening recalled what everyone experienced during the war. Their memories were accompanied by the book exhibition “Victory lives in the heart of everyone” and the presentation “Chronicle of the war. 1941 - 1945"
Master classes for Easter "Easter Mosaic"
On the eve of the bright holiday of Easter in the Library - the Center for Communication and Information, participants of the Pskov regional non-profit public organization "Tsvetik - Semitsvetik" Orekhova Zlata Yuryevna and Dvornichenko Anastasia Vladimirovna prepared and conducted a cycle of master classes with preschool children dedicated to this holiday.
Preschoolers listened with great attention to Russian Easter traditions, talked about the traditions of their families, painted eggs with pleasure, made Easter trees using different techniques, and “baked” Easter cakes.
Some of the joint works can be seen at the exhibition in the Pogankin Chambers, the rest of the works are presented at the exhibition in the library.
A few words about Easter
The Easter holiday is a centuries-old tradition, a “holiday of holidays”, glorifying the victory of good over evil, life over death, light over darkness. Easter, such a bright holiday, united people in a single feeling, mood and state of mind. He brought families together. Family members, let on a short time, gathered together, united by a common cause: preparation for the holiday, a joyful feeling, a cheerful feast. And now Easter, and with it those rituals, customs that have evolved over the centuries, are returning to Russian soil.
In Great Lent, all games and amusements were banned, and from Easter, fun entertainment for young people began. The festivities were held outdoors. So from Easter they began to swing on a swing, festivities opened with fun games, round dances, game round dances, round dance songs. One of the most widespread and favorite Easter entertainments was skating krashenka. For this, special trays with a chute were made. The players sat down opposite each other at a certain distance and, on command, rolled eggs into trays. If the rolled egg hit the egg of another player and broke it, then the player took the broken egg for himself. Young guys and girls climbed onto the roofs of houses to better see how the sun would “play” and “have fun”.
In Rus', there was a belief that the sun "plays" on Easter. Children turned to the sun with invocations:
Burn, sun, brighter,
Summer will be hotter.
And winter is warmer
And spring is sweeter!
Mushrooms grow in the forest
Beans in the garden
In the field - rye and barley,
In the garden - green hops.
And what a beautiful and joyful Easter table! Traditional Easter dishes were and still are Easter cake, Easter cake and colored eggs. In the Russian tradition, they started preparing Easter dishes in advance: on Monday, Tuesday - they painted eggs, on Wednesday - Thursday - they baked Easter cakes, made Easter, and on Saturday they consecrated Easter food in the church. Consecrated eggs, Easter cakes, Easter were always placed in the center of the table. Initially, it was customary to dye eggs only red, but now the flight of fancy is not limited to this.
Local history game "Pskov through the centuries"
On April 26, the Library staff - the Center for Communication and Information, together with the MBOU DOD "Center for Children and youth tourism and Excursions" held an annual city-wide game of local lore at the stations "Pskov Through the Ages".
Teams of pupils from 6th to 9th grades of city schools were invited to participate in the game. In total, more than 160 people took part.
The game was traditionally played by stations. At each station (the Kremlin, the monument to V.I. Lenin, the Library - the Center for Communication and Information, the Center for Tourism), the guys performed various tasks on knowledge of the main events in the history of the city. Each team prepared a creative task on the topic "A gift to Pskov for 1110 - the anniversary of the first mention in the annals ...".
Talent is a non-random miracle...
The Library - Center for Communication and Information hosted a regular meeting of the club "Meetings in Zavelichye", dedicated to the work of the remarkable poet E. Yevtushenko. His name has long and firmly entered modern poetry, has spread widely in the lives of people of different generations. The popularity of E. Yevtushenko's poetry lies not only in an outstanding poetic talent, but also in a special indifference to human destinies, the ability to find the key to souls different people. In 1956, the twenty-three-year-old poet declared himself so loudly and impressively that he was heard by everyone, and what was said in those early years still rings:
I am different
I'm overworked
and idle
I'm target
and inappropriate
inconvenient,
shy and arrogant,
evil and kind.
I love so much.
So that everything is interspersed!
And so many things mixed up in me -
from the west
and to the east
from envy to delight!
It is clear that not everything in Yevtushenko's poetry is equally strong and convincing. But he explains his point of view meticulously, in detail; always wants to be objective in his poems, he loves people and writes about them warmly and respectfully, and this is the main thing!
The conversation about the poet was accompanied by reading poetry and watching videos.
"Skillful hands scrape"
On April 18, within the framework of the project "Know your native land" in the Library - the Center for Communication and Information, a master class "Skillful Hands Scrape" was held, which was held by Elena Dmitrievna Rumyantseva, a well-known ceramist in our city.
Since time immemorial, people have been sculpting objects necessary for everyday life from clay, but in the hands of talented craftsmen, the most ordinary things turned into real works of decorative and applied art. Elena Dmitrievna reminded the children that the best tool is our hands and a good mood with which to start work. And clay is such a miracle, it will tell you what and how to sculpt!
Everyone present received a piece of "raw" clay - and the work began to boil! While the guys were trying to understand what their piece of clay was telling them, Elena Dmitrievna talked about herself, about her hobby, about where you can prepare and how to process clay. By the end of the meeting, the guys made a whole army of cats, hedgehogs, robots and other clay blanks from identical pieces of clay. At home, the guys will dry them and paint them. To make the work brighter and more interesting, librarians recommended referring to the book: Fedotov, G. Obedient clay : the basics of artistic craft / Gennady Fedotov. - M.: "AST-Press", 1997. - 141 p.
“The first step has been taken, and everything else will depend on taste and imagination, on hard work and inquisitiveness. Not the gods burn the pots ... ”- Elena Dmitrievna admonished her students.
And in order to show what they had learned earlier, the guys brought their works to the library and designed the exhibition “Our hands are not for boredom”.
Farewell to the alphabet
April 17 at the Library - Communication and Information Center for first-graders from 24 schools was a holiday "Farewell to the ABC".
Months of hard work flew by. During this time, the guys have grown a lot, matured, learned a lot, learned a lot. They experienced the first difficulties and learned to overcome them. The atmosphere of surprise, delight, interest in reading reigned throughout the holiday.
The children were happy to solve charades and puzzles, made up mini-stories about the first school book - the ABC. The exhibition “Letter by letter, book by book” helped them in this, which presented only some of the funny and entertaining “alphabets” created by different authors.
The meeting continued with the compilation of its "fabulous" alphabet. The guys together recalled their favorite book characters and arranged them in alphabetical order. The meeting ended with the reading of poems by modern children's writers. As a keepsake, everyone received multi-colored bookmarks with a recommended list of literature and sweet prizes.
To the Day of Cosmonautics
To the Day of Cosmonautics
On April 12, the Library - Center for Communication and Information held several meetings with students dedicated to Cosmonautics Day.
Who among us was not attracted by the amazing grandeur of the stars, who did not dream of flying to the moon or finding out if there is life on Mars?
The starry sky is a mystery that nature has given us, and our events have slightly opened the veil over the mysteries of the Cosmos for the children.
At our meetings, the children learned about the history of space exploration, about the profession of an astronaut, about how people work, live, and relax in a space house.
The children were interested in how astronauts sleep and work, how and what they eat. The conversation, in which everyone took part with great pleasure, proceeded very lively. The children learned what weightlessness is and felt like real astronauts for an hour. The meeting ended with a review of books from the exhibition "To Future Cosmonauts".
More than a hundred students from schools No. 4 and No. 8 got acquainted with books dedicated to space.
"Bibliographic carousel"
Carousels, carousels,
Sit, sit, fly
twirled, twirled
Buzzed, rolled!
They trembled, they screamed,
They held hands together.
How breathtaking
Wow!
N. Krasnyanskaya
April 11 in the Library - Center for Communication and Information began its work "Bibliographic Carousel". The participants in the cycle of classes are students of grades 2 and 4.
At the first lesson, the guys together recalled what they had learned about the book last year - the history of the book, the structure and reference apparatus of a modern book.
The meeting continued with a detailed acquaintance of children with encyclopedias. The children learned that children's encyclopedias are very different: one- and multi-volume, bright, colorful and modest, with expanded entertaining texts and concise, similar to comics with brief comments ... And there are encyclopedias that are universal, sectoral, thematic, regional ... And in every encyclopedia have their own reference apparatus, with the help of which the guys searched for information.
In a playful way, schoolchildren completed practical tasks to consolidate new material. To the question: “What did you learn new for yourself at the library event?”, the guys together came to the answer that reference publications are interesting and reliable assistants in their studies!
Information Day "History of the language - the history of the people"
“The history of the language is the history of the people” - this was the name of the Information Day held in the Library - the center of communication and information. In the program of the day:
Opening of the exhibition "Words are precious treasures" with a review of Russian dictionaries.
linguistic game"The word is a great thing."
In the introductory part of the meeting, the participants met and discussed Aesop's parable "On Language". Then the game between the teams "Zelo" and "Dobro" began. The easy warm-up questions helped the players focus.
Then more difficult competitions began: “Explainers”, “Proverbs are not said without reason”, etc. In the “Short and Clear” competition, the participants were asked to convey the meaning of the expression in one word.
At the meeting, the guys vigorously discussed the purity of our language, and in the end they came to the conclusion that studying native language- this is not only necessary, but also very interesting.
Conversation-dialogue "Pskov - a city of warriors"
On February 28, in the Library - Center for Communication and Information with students of the 4th grade, a conversation took place about the defenders of the Russian land "Pskov - a city-warrior".
Your glorious majesty
I boldly undertake to glorify
Russian land borderlands -
Pskov region - military Rus'.
O. Alekseev
Our Pskov region in ancient times (as today) was a frontier region, and very often the inhabitants of the Pskov land met a foreign enemy. Russian squads went out to meet the enemy, and the most courageous Pskovians led them into battle. The story went about them at the next meeting with the fourth-graders.
The defenders of the land of Pskov are the holy noble princes Vsevolod Gabriel, Dovmont Timothy and Alexander Nevsky. From the distant past, the guys saw pictures of the heroic struggle of the Pskovites: the Battle on the Ice, the defense of the city from the troops of the Polish king Stefan Batory, the Swedish king Gustavus Adolphus.
Many Pskovians fought heroically in the Patriotic War of 1812.
Particular attention in the conversation was paid to the events of the Great Patriotic War and memorable places Pskov associated with them. Most of all, the guys were struck by the number of victims of fascist terror. They learned that the whole city was entangled in a whole network of concentration camps, in which 225,000 prisoners died. Just think! Now in our city there are about 200 thousand inhabitants!
But even in our peacetime there are hot spots where, as in ancient times, the strength, honor and courage of the people of Pskov are needed!
For the valiant deeds of the Pskov people in 2009, Pskov was awarded the title of "City of Military Glory".
Cognitive hour "Trace of the Panther"
On February 25, the Library-Center for Communication and Information hosted an educational hour “Trace of the Panther” for students of the 9th grade of the 4th school.
Although the Great Patriotic War ended a long time ago, its echo still sounds today. In our country, the war affected the fate of millions of people. Words by A.V. Suvorov that the war is not considered over until the last of the soldiers who died on it is buried, unfortunately, are still relevant. Many soldiers and officers remained lying on the fields of past battles. Their relatives to this day cannot find out anything about the fate of their "missing" relatives.
The military - patriotic public organization "Trace of the Panther" is engaged in the search for missing soldiers of the Red Army in the Pskov region, the search for relatives of the soldiers found. Georgy Sergeevich, one of the organizers of the "Panther's Trail", retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Soviet Army, told the children about the activities of this organization.
Of great interest was his story about the rise of a Soviet aircraft during the war in the Novosokolnichesky district, accompanied by a documentary film from the archives of the Panther's Trail association. The guys were also amazed by the number of found and reburied soldiers - about eight thousand.
Literary and musical evening "To remember ..."
On February 20, in the Library - the Center for Communication and Information in the club "Meetings on Zavelichye" a literary and musical evening "To remember ..." was held.
The participants of the evening got acquainted with the work of S. Aleksievich, poems and songs of soldiers - Afghans. All Veterans military service congratulated the young guitarists children's center"Hope".
The congratulation of the deputy of the Pskov Regional Assembly Bryachak O.M. was unexpected and pleasant. The tea party continued the evening: they sang military songs, read poems about military everyday life, danced and, of course, drank tea.
“To tears, touchingly and solemnly passed the holiday, dedicated to the defenders Fatherland. It is gratifying that young people took part in the preparation. They left spiritually enriched, with good mood"- from the review of the widow of the Pskov artist, participant Battle of Stalingrad V. S. Silina.
To the Defender of the Fatherland Day
The first to congratulate their dads and grandfathers were little readers of the library.
Young artists from the circle "Kalyaka - Malyaka" presented their first exhibition-gift of creative works.
At the presentation, the children read poems dedicated to their beloved dads, together with dads and moms participated in competitions, and at the end of the meeting they received well-deserved awards - certificates and sweet prizes.
Cognitive hour "Pskov temples flaunt over the eternal bright water"
January 31 at the Library - the Center for Communication and Information within the framework of the project "Know your native land!" the educational hour “Pskov temples flaunt over the eternal bright water” has passed.
A virtual tour of Pskov allowed schoolchildren to see and compare the ancient and modern city Pskov is unusually beautiful and original.
On the example of Pskov churches, the children got acquainted with the peculiarities of the stone architecture of ancient Pskov. "Whatever the city, then the temper," - this is how the ancient proverb of Rus' says. All temples and fortresses of our city are original and unique. The children were convinced of this by answering the questions of the "Architectural Mosaic" contest.
Getting acquainted with the temples of Pskov, the guys learned that many of them were given names not just according to the saint or church holiday, to which they are dedicated, but also the names are associated with the surrounding area or a historical event. These names sound like music - the Dormition from Zhabya Lavitsa, Nikola So Usokhi, the Church of Kozma and Damian from Primostye, the Church of St. Basil the Great on Gorka, the Church of the Intercession and Nativity of the Virgin from the Prolom, the Church of St. Barlaam Khutynsky ...
The children prepared for the event creative work- drawings of temples, churches, monasteries of Pskov and short stories about them.
Best works accompanied the story of the librarian about the temples of Pskov.
Summing up the results of the creative contest "Talisman of the Year"
On January 13, the Library - Center for Communication and Information hosted a celebration in honor of summing up the results of the creative contest "Talisman of the Year".
According to the eastern horoscope, 2013 is the Year of the Snake. This wise Snake became the mistress of our holiday. And a variety of snakes, snakes and snakes helped her.
The snakes from popular science books and encyclopedias were the first to present themselves. The children learned about harmful and useful snakes, that since ancient times, among many peoples, the snake has been a symbol of power, wisdom and power. In Malaysia, on the island of Penang, there is a Serpent Temple. It is still not explained that on certain holidays according to the Chinese calendar, an unprecedented number of snakes crawl into the temple, and that during all this time not a single visitor to the temple was bitten. It was curious to know that the longest snake in the world is a python named Fluffy from a zoo in Ohio: at 18, he weighs 136 kg, his body length is 7m 31cm, this snake is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. The oldest snake in the world - a boa named Popeye - lived 40 years, 3 months and 14 days.
Then there was a parade - a presentation of literary snakes. The heroes of the books by V. Blagov “Freedom to the Serpent Gorynych”, R. Kipling “Rikki-Tikki-Tavi”, “Mowgli”, P. Bazhov “The Blue Snake”, the Brothers Grimm “White Snake”, G. Oster, K .Doyle "Motley Ribbon, etc.
The children participating in the festival presented poems about snakes of their own composition within the framework of the competition.
With great pleasure, all the guests of the holiday took part in the competition of snake fashion designers, tongue twisters “Everything about her”, answered the questions of the literary quiz “Who is this? From which book”, they solved charades, made words from found letters and syllables.
The holiday ended with summing up the results of the contest "Talisman of the Year". The jury of the competition determined the winners in the nominations: “Drawing”, “Craft”, “ Literary work» for different age groups.
All winners received letters of thanks and gifts. Assistance in purchasing gifts was provided by the deputy of the Pskov City Duma Natalya Viktorovna Sokolova.
March 19 in the children's library-branch No. 1 named after. A.S. Pushkin was held information day "Come to green house you will see miracles in it".
Information day plan:
- Library quilt “Why are we friends with the forest, why do people need it?”
- Book Exhibition-Opening Day "Charming Music of the Forests"
- Conversation at the book exhibition "Journey to the Forests and Forest Wonders"
- Riddle game "On the forest paths"
Throughout the day, all library visitors got acquainted with the literature about the forest and reproductions of paintings by famous artists presented at the book exhibition-opening day "Charming Music of the Forests". During the conversations at the book exhibition "Journey to the forests and forest wonders" children learned that the forest occupies 31% of the entire surface of the planet, head. library L.Yu. Potanina talked about the importance of the forest in human life. The conversation was also about why we should protect and preserve the forest, about the rules of behavior in the forest.
Riddle game "On the forest paths" passed in the form of several rounds. Students of the 4th grade of the NOU Orthodox gymnasium “St. Tikhon of Zadonsky. It was held with the guys by librarians E.I. Taravkova. and Queen E.S.
The first round was held near the book exhibition "Flower Tales". Quiz "Fairy Flower" offered children questions (on the petals of fabulous flowers) on fairy tales about flowers. For example, “In what fairy tale did the petals of an amazing flower help the girl to fulfill all her wishes?” (“Flower-seven-flower” by V. Kataev)
The second round was bird trill game. Children were asked to guess riddles about birds that were placed on paper birds. For example, “Together with this black bird, spring is knocking on our window. Hide your winter clothes! Who is jumping on the arable land? (Rook).
"Riddles from a basket"- the third round of the game. Questions were written on images of animals, leaves of trees, mushrooms. Each child, choosing a certain picture, understood what the riddle would be about. Questions from mushrooms were made up about mushrooms, questions from leaves - about plants, from pictures of animals - about forest animals. For example, “And here is someone important on a little white leg. He has a red hat, peas on the hat ”(Fly agaric); “Snoring is heard from the den - the owner, the clubfoot, is sleeping. The whole district was covered with snow, but he was warm in his sleep ”(Bear).
The final round of the game was Smell Competition. The children were offered jars of herbs, from which they had to choose forest ones. Adults also took part in this tour with pleasure.
On this day, the library was decorated in the form of a forest. Everywhere visitors were met by leaves, cones, acorns, butterflies, birds and flowers. It created a certain mood. There were bird trills, sounds of insects and just a pleasant melody "Walking in the woods".
The children answered the question at the end of the event quilt "Why are we friends with the forest, why do people need it?" and attached paper stickers to a poster that was posted in the lobby of the library. The answers of the children were very competent and serious. Each child was imbued with a sense of responsibility for the preservation of the forest.
In response to a quilt question, the guys wrote that “we need a forest because it is called the lungs of our planet”, “we protect the forest in order to breathe”, “the forest heals us, gives us clean air”, “the forest is needed so that animals can live”, “to know the birds habits”, “because there is pleasant air and you can breathe fresh non-urban air”, “... if you cut it down, then there will be no nature”, “gives us healing herbs”, “nature gives us tasty and healthy herbs, and if we spoil them, then no one will survive”, “the forest purifies the air, feeds and heals us "," the forest gives us paper. Houses, dishes, furniture are made of wood”, “in the forest you can take a break from the heat, bustle”, “you can’t make noise in the forest, start fires, scatter garbage”, “we need the forest for air, for beauty, for rest from the city, for knowledge of animate and inanimate nature”, “so that we can walk in clean air”.
Additional information about the forest can be obtained by library users from books that have been included in recommendation list literature for children "You can only touch nature with your heart."

Information Day at the Library: School of Excellence (Issue 4)
Today, when the flow of information is constantly growing, intensifying and
informational role of libraries. One of the most relevant components of the work is bibliographic information - bringing information to consumers (in accordance with their requests or needs). The main forms of bibliographic information without specific requests are Information Days.
The purpose of Information Days is the widest possible and multifaceted disclosure of library resources.
Information Day is a comprehensive information event designed for a diverse readership.
They are held in libraries once a month or as new literature arrives, and everyone can attend it.
The library notifies readers and users, as well as interested organizations and institutions, about the place and time of the event.
Information Day can be completely dedicated to new products, and in this case, all publications received during a certain period in all branches of knowledge, including information, bibliographic, audio-video materials, CDs, etc., are exhibited on it.
A feature of the Information Day is that all events taking place on this day should be interconnected and should complement each other.
The librarians of the subscription and the reading room carefully prepare for each such event.
Preparatory stage:
a plan is drawn up;
postcards-invitations are sent to readers or invitations by phone;
attention is drawn to the invitation of readers who are temporarily not visiting the library;
duties are distributed among employees of various departments of the library in accordance with the interests and capabilities of each;
Pages 2 Day of information in the library: school of excellence (issue 4) systematizes publications by topics, genres, readership, etc.;
attention is drawn to the Belarusian book;
the texts of conversations and bibliographic reviews are thought over;
thematic zones, exhibitions-views of literature are organized;
bookmarks are compiled, etc.
Information Day program includes:
exhibition-viewing new arrivals;
bibliographic review;
book talks;
legal information: Etalon NCPI RB;
video viewing;
advice on how to follow new editions and publications;
the procedure for issuing literature in the library, including on a fee basis.
Forms of work used in the program of Information Days:
exhibitions-views on topics;
exhibitions-views by genre;
exhibitions-views by types of publications;
exhibitions-views of Belarusian books; exhibitions of one edition or one thematic series;
premieres of new editions in the form of review-views;
presentations electronic publications and DB;
bibliographic reviews;
bookmarks;
lessons information culture with training in the skills of independent search for the necessary information.
–  –  –
Sometimes there are thematic Days of Information for certain groups of users who are interested in a specific issue.
The chronological coverage of materials in this case will be much wider than the day of information about new products.
When designing a program, each library should consider:
the leading theme in the work of the library;
leading themes of the year;
reading groups;
composition of the book fund of the library.
Literature is selected, exhibitions and open viewings are organized, thematic reviews are conducted, specialists are invited for consultations, orders are placed.
Exhibitions and open viewings of new acquisitions, the purpose of which is to acquaint readers with new publications - books, newspapers, magazines, audio-video materials, electronic documents received by the library for certain period time.
Due to the diversity of their readership, universality of content, time of operation and location, exhibitions and viewings of new acquisitions make it possible to make information about new products available to almost all readers.
On this day, exhibitions of new literature are open in all departments of the library.
It is also advisable to show on them publications that were purchased earlier, but for one reason or another have not yet been claimed by readers.
Of course, not everyone can visit the library just when the information day is taking place. Therefore, there are always lists of literature or a card file of new arrivals at the exhibitions.
In contrast to the reading room, books from exhibitions and open viewings on the subscription are given to the house.
–  –  –
It is advisable, after viewing in the library, to form a separate rack of new literature, on which to present a card file of new acquisitions or lists of new acquisitions for a certain period.
Oral bibliographic reviews of new products are used not only as independent forms of familiarizing readers with new arrivals, but also as an essential addition to the exhibitions of new products.
The review provides detailed information about the most interesting, in the opinion of the librarian, publications. Sometimes reviews of new products are recorded and repeated at a certain interval of time, when the contingent of readers is replaced.
Information Day Participant Questionnaire Date: ________ 1.

Information Day (from the experience of the Youth Department of the Library Center "Chitai-Gorod", Veliky Novgorod).
Methodological advice Konyaeva N.V., chief bibliographer of the Youth Department of the Library Center for Children and Youth Chitai-gorod".
From the experience of organizing the Information Day (ID) of the "Chitay-gorod" MO, as we understand and conduct it, in the Youth Department of the "Chitay-Gorod" Library Center. This, of course, is not a certain standard that must be followed, but I hope that our experience will be useful to you in some way.
The purpose of the DI is the widest and most multifaceted disclosure of the library's resources. In general, any library event is designed to reveal the library fund and thereby bring information to consumers. JI differs from others in that it is a complex event. The functions of DI for the disclosure of library funds are implemented through a combination of visual, oral, and printed forms.
The DI program can include a variety of ways to bring information to the consumer: exhibitions, viewings of various materials from the library collections, reviews, conversations at the exhibition, consultations of invited experts, viewing video materials, bibliographic lists of literature. Informing about publications can be supplemented by elements of teaching library and bibliographic knowledge, a tour of the library. A feature of the DI is that all events taking place on this day should be interconnected, should complement each other. And an obligatory element of any DI is exhibitions.
In terms of readership coverage, DIs can be universal, intended for a wide range of readers. As a rule, these are CIs about new arrivals in the library for a certain period of time. Or they can be thematic - for individual groups of users who are interested in a particular issue. Chronological Pages 6 Library Information Day: School of Excellence (Issue 4) the scope of materials in this case will be much wider than the CI on novelties.
The regularity and duration of audits is determined by the library that conducts them. For example, in the Youth Department for a number of recent years Traditions are formed in the frequency of DI. If we talk about new arrivals, then we conduct such a DI once a year. Although exhibitions of new arrivals are issued in the departments on a monthly basis. But, taking into account the specifics of the Youth Department (the readers are high school students, students of secondary schools and universities, whose summer vacations and library attendance drops), we hold a DI about new arrivals "New in the Youth Department" on September 1, on the Day of Knowledge, thus marking the beginning of a new school year. With regard to the frequency of thematic surveys, as a rule, such surveys are held within the cycles of major events. When developing, we try to take into account the needs and interests of readers, the possibilities of the book fund and the fund of periodicals, significant dates and the events of the year, maybe not quite ordinary or famous holidays. For example, for the third year in a row in May, on the occasion of Family Day (May 15), we spend the Day useful information for young parents. In November, during the Week of Useful Information, for several years now we have also held thematic DIs. It should be noted that in one way or another all departments of the Youth Department, not only bibliographers, and sometimes not so much bibliographers as employees of service departments, take part in the preparation and conduct of DI.
We begin the work on the preparation of the DI with the definition of the purpose and objectives of this event. For example, if our goal is simply to bring information to the readers of the library, then these will be one task, i.e. way to achieve the goal. If, in addition to communicating information, we have a goal to attract new users to the library, declare ourselves, tell that there is such a library and it offers its services to the population, then, of course, the tasks of achieving such a goal will be wider. One of the objectives of the DI may be, for example, to involve partners and sponsors in joint work both on a specific event and in the work of the library as a whole.
The definition of tasks to achieve these goals and the development of an event program depend on setting the goals of the DI. For example, in the case of Page 7 Information Day in the Library: School of Excellence (Issue 4), if the goal is only to bring information to library readers, we do not set ourselves the task of organizing a large advertising campaign for CI. Of course, there should be an announcement about DI, but in this case, an announcement in the library itself and, for example, other CLS libraries. And the purpose of such DI is achieved through the display of all available materials from our funds through a variety of forms. This, in my opinion, is the least expensive DI in all respects.
As an example from work experience, I can cite the CI "New in the Youth Department", which I have already mentioned. At exhibitions-views in all subdivisions of the Youth Department, publications received by our funds during the summer period were presented. But in the process of preparing for the DI, I had to make adjustments to the program. One of the goals of the CI "New in the Youth Department" was to attract new readers. Unfortunately, we did not take into account that the day (September 1) was not chosen very well to achieve this goal. Therefore, we failed to agree with any groups or classes on visiting the Youth Department on that particular day. And the information review at the exhibition in the reading room, which was prepared by bibliographers, had to be recorded on a tape recorder and scrolled throughout the day on the subscription.
And although this year we have a New Arrivals CI scheduled again for September 1, this time we will focus on individual readers, those who have already come to our library that day, and not on organized groups. For example, instead of information reviews at the exhibition, hold small consultations on new literature for interested readers, supplementing these consultations with elements of training in library and bibliographic literacy.
If one of the goals of the DI is to attract new readers, then the task of opening the library collection alone is not enough. Here it will already be necessary to think over a system of notification of DI not only for those who visit the library, but also for potential users (residents of the microdistrict, village, students of nearby educational institutions etc.).
It may be worth setting the task not only to inform about the upcoming IA, but also to establish contacts with user groups (for example, specifically Page 8 Information Day in the Library: School of Excellence (vol. 4) to invite a certain group of students or specialists from an enterprise to the library or institutions).
When one of the goals of DI is to attract sponsors to joint work, then the task, in general, is the same - to interest our potential partners.
After defining the goals and objectives of the DI, we begin to develop its program. We think about what methods we will bring information about the materials we have in our funds to consumers, what interesting and instructive things we can offer to those who come to us on this day. Exhibitions and bibliographic reviews remain the main forms of disclosure of collections in CI. Given the current situation with the collection of funds, large exhibitions-views in the Youth Department are organized in the reading room. Moreover, the exhibition presents not only books and periodicals, but, if available, video and audio materials, CDs. On the subscription on this day, there is also an exhibition of literature, but in terms of volume it is usually smaller. And, unlike the reading room, books from such an exhibition are given out. Of course, not everyone can visit the library exactly when the DI is taking place.
Therefore, lists of literature (thematic or lists of new arrivals) are always present at exhibitions.
A bibliographic review can be carried out both at a book exhibition and be independent. Let me remind you that when conducting a review, a variety of techniques are used in the submission of a book, for example:
Start the story with the most interesting;
Show illustrations;
Suggest some intriguing questions that can be answered by reading the book;
Show several other books that are similar to the recommended subject and pay attention to how this particular book differs.
There is no point in retelling the annotations. About an unread book, it is better to say something like this: "I have not yet had time to read it, but, judging by the annotation (foreword, book review), it talks about ...., it touches on problems ..." Pages 9 Information day in the library: school of excellence (Issue 4) Sometimes a variety of techniques are woven into the review, up to quizzes. The question can also be asked as a rhetorical one, not requiring an immediate response from the audience. The librarian may suggest a book in which the reader will find the answer.
One of the typical mistakes in a review is to talk about a book in such detail that the listener does not want to read it, everything has already been said.
The entertainment and originality of the proposed events play an important role in attracting readers. Therefore, when conducting DI, we use and game forms: various quizzes and contests.
For example, in the Youth Department, a thematic day of information on the history of Russia in the 19th-20th centuries "FROM CENTURY TO CENTURY" was held. The program included:
Information stand in the lobby of the library about the most important events in the history of Russia in the 19th-20th centuries;
Exhibition of literature "From century to century";
Game Wheel of History.
At the exhibition "From century to century" literature on the history of Russia of the 19th century was presented on one rack, on the other - of the 20th century, including reference books. In the middle was the "wheel of history", which marked the years of the most significant events.
Everyone who wanted to spin the wheel, the arrow pointed to the year, and the participant had to answer what event happened that year. If he found it difficult to answer, he could turn to the literature on display and look for the answer in books. As "cheat sheets" the participants of the game were offered lists of the most significant events without indicating the year.
All participants were given small prizes (pens). We set the goal of this DI not only to show the materials we have on the history of Russia, but also to interest our young readers in this topic, even if for a short period of the game.
Game forms were also used during the thematic DI "Social Rout", anniversary(285 years) of the book "An honest mirror of youth". In addition to exhibitions and conversations on the history of etiquette,
–  –  –
Those who wished were invited to participate in a quiz on the rules of conduct.
In order to more actively attract readers to printed sources, when preparing some DIs, we announce various competitions among readers. I will tell you more about these competitions below.
The results are summed up during the DI.
Unfortunately, it is not a secret that nowadays sometimes libraries, due to financial difficulties, have to turn to various organizations and private entrepreneurs for help. "Read-city" is no exception. This happens, as a rule, when organizing large events, including DI. Therefore, I will dwell a little on such a goal of DI as involving partners in joint work.
Before contacting them, we should determine what kind of help we want from them. As a rule, the Youth Department of "Chitaigorod" turns to partners when conducting thematic DIs.
Suppose we see that there are not enough materials in our funds to fully reveal the topic, or such literature is outdated. Then we apply with a request to allocate money for the purchase of new materials. If we believe that it is necessary to invite certain specialists to consult on a topic at JI, we look for those firms or enterprises that can provide such specialists. Appeal to them should be at the official level, through the director of the library.
We come to partners (sponsors) with exemplary program DI.
The final program is drawn up after we have agreed (or not agreed) on joint work. What can we offer from our side in exchange for help? First of all, advertising of a company, enterprise, its products or services, placement of booklets, brochures on the territory of the library. During the DI, it is obligatory to mention that the event is supported by such and such a company, etc. Information about this can be placed on the announcement, on invitation cards. If our partners are interested in constant receipt of information about books and periodicals on a certain topic, of course, we meet them halfway, and in this case
–  –  –
we compile lists of references free of charge and bring them to the attention of our sponsors.
It should be noted that many organizations, firms, to which we turned for help, willingly make contact and sometimes offer something new themselves. For example, when conducting a career guidance exercise "Parade of Professions", the Human Resources Center provided us with electronic version guide for applicants "Where to go to study" in Veliky Novgorod and the Novgorod region. When the Youth Department conducted an IA in psychology, the center psychological help"Trust" also willingly went to cooperate with us. The library organized a preliminary collection of anonymous questions to the psychologist, which we tried to answer with the help of an exhibition of books and periodicals "Psychologist and I". In DI, a psychologist from the "Trust" center was on duty at the exhibition, to which anyone could turn for help.
After the CI program is drawn up, a system for advertising this event is developed: announcements, personal invitations, information in the media. The announcements must indicate the CI program, contain information about the services that the library provides on that day (for example, compiling lists of references, filing applications for books, etc.). For example, in the CI program for young parents "Harmony of Childhood" we indicated such a service as free viewing of fashion magazines with children's models.
The objectives of the CI for young parents "Harmony of Childhood" were:
satisfaction of requests through bringing information to a certain group of consumers, disclosure of library funds, attracting new readers. Therefore, the DI program looked like this:
Action "Invitation": in addition to individual invitations to young parents - readers of the library, our employees went out with invitations to nearby kindergartens, a children's clinic.
Exhibitions "Constellation of Talents", "Harmony of Childhood", "Family Happiness"
Information stand in the foyer of the library "Everything should be fine in a child"
Compilation fiction for preschoolers

Information Review of New Literature For a number of years, annually in November, the Week of Useful Information has been held in Chitai-Gorod. During the Week, exhibitions and various events are held in all departments of Chitaigorod, incl. and thematic CIs.
In 2003 the DI "Ecological assortment" was held: exhibitions were arranged in all departments. At the subscription - a review of new books on ecology (recorded on a tape recorder). In the Information and Leisure Sector there was a discussion about the specially protected territories of the Novgorod region "Reserved places".
In 2004, the Week of Useful Information will be dedicated to the traditions and customs of the Russian people. A DI on this topic is also planned.
Annual free seminars held in the information and leisure sector of the Youth Department for everyone within the framework of the "School of Beauty" cycle, timed to coincide with International Women's Day, can be called a peculiar kind of DI. These are thematic DIs with the involvement of third-party specialists, which require a lot of preliminary preparation and considerable costs. And it is in the preparation of such large-scale events that we cannot do without outside help. In the preparation of such seminars, not so much bibliographers are involved as workers in the information and leisure sector.
Bibliographers are responsible for the design of the book exhibition and the review of the exhibition.
Such seminars have been held in "Chitay-gorod" for the third year already. The program of each of the three such seminars includes a competition, which we previously announce among readers. The announcement about the competition, as well as about the event itself, is posted in all departments library center, in the media. Held individual work with readers. A small selection of literature is prepared in advance, which can be used by those wishing to take part in the competition.
The first seminar was devoted to caring for one's appearance and was called "You can't forbid living a beautiful life." The program included:
Exhibition book collection, acquired with funds allocated by LLC "Panacea-N";
–  –  –
Presentation of the book exhibition (bibliographic review of literature at the exhibition);
Consultation of specialists (beautician, hairdresser, fitness specialist);
Summing up the results of the "Secret of Beauty" contest (readers shared their recipes for maintaining an attractive appearance.
"Beauty recipes" were evaluated by a cosmetologist and the best one was chosen).
The second seminar "Create your own style" was devoted to the creation of a unique and unique image of each girl with the help of decorative cosmetics, clothes, perfumes. The program of this seminar also included an exhibition printed publications, overview of the exhibition, consultations of specialists, summing up the results of the competition "In the style of" Cosmo ".
The third seminar was called "High Fashion in the World of Flowers". The seminar program included: an exhibition of literature and an information review at the exhibition; consultations of specialists in floriculture, phytodesign and floristry; performance by the artist Ksenia Katrich, whose exhibition of works "Invitation to Summer" was arranged in the reading room of the Youth Department; summing up the results of the competition.
Taking into account the peculiarity of the age group of users served by the Youth Department of "Chitay-Gorod" (workload curriculum, lack of time, desire to quickly obtain the necessary information or literature), Information Days, in my opinion, are the best form of bibliographic information for young people.
